IS THE WIND OF THE SPIRIT IN YOUR FAVOUR❓

Memory Verse:
Zechariah 4:6

Message:
Are you struggling or striving to make something happen? Maybe, you need a breakthrough in your finances or in a relationship. It is good to do everything we know to do in the natural, but we have to always remember that victory doesn’t come by might nor power, but by the Spirit of the living God.

One translation says, “it is by the breath of Almighty God.” When you know God is breathing in your direction and dare to take a leap of faith and say, “Yes, this is my time; I’m going to accomplish my dreams,” that’s when you will feel a wind beneath your wings lifting you up. That’s when you’ll feel a supernatural lift, an anointing that will help you accomplish what you could not accomplish on your own.

Today, know that the wind of God is blowing. This is your season. This is your time to believe again. Believe that God can open doors that no man can shut. Believe that He is working behind the scenes in your favour. Believe that it’s your season; it’s your time and get ready to embrace every blessing He has in store for you!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Without God, we are nothing on our own.

PRAYER:
Father God, today, I surrender every area of my heart, my mind, my will and my emotions to You.

Joshua 4-6; Luke 15: 1-10

DO YOU HAVE A GENUINE LOVE FOR OTHERS❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Tuesday 10 December 2019.

Text:
1 John 3:10-18

TOPIC:
DO YOU HAVE A GENUINE LOVE FOR OTHERS❓

Memory Verse:
1 John 3:18

Message:
The greatest love ever showed was on the cross. It was a great example, unconditional and forever unsurpassed. Such love that no man could fathom, was lavished on the cross by a Man for people that knew him not in order to draw them out of deep ocean of ungodliness. It is a Sterling example of the quality of love Christians are expected to share in their community. It should form a major part of every Christian’s life.

From today’s Scripture, it is evident that only this type of love can spur believers to reach out to others in deed and truth. This is to be manifested in many ways:

1. *Evangelism* – preaching Christ to the unsaved so that they may turn from their ungodly ways and embrace the love and life of Christ and escape hell.

2. *Prayers* – praying for those that have broken away from the fold (backslidden) instead of condemning them.

3. *Caring* – caring for one another, especially, the less privileged like the orphans, the sick, prisoners etc.

4. *Sharing* – sharing what we have with those that have not thereby covering one another’s nakedness.

Anyone that claims he loves but does not reach out to others does not actually know God. Love must be practical as Jesus did on the cross. If you have not been loving others as you expect to be loved, begin today. Do it in your own best way. Look out for someone you can show the love of God today.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Love is practical.. Dream it. Speak it. Walk it. Share it.

PRAYER:
Oh Lord, help me to love others even as I expect to be loved. Amen.

BIBLE READING FOR THE YEAR:
Esther 9 -10; Luke 13 : 23 – 35

ARE YOU PERSISTENT IN YOUR PRAYERS ❓

Luke 18:1-8

Topic:
ARE YOU PERSISTENT IN YOUR PRAYERS❓

Memory verse:
Luke 18:1

Message:
Your blessings might not be coming just soon because God wants you to be persistent. why would God want you to be persistent? Ray T. Benneth in his book, The Light in the Heart gives us an insight: “Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going, tough situations build strong people in the end.”

Another reason that God may want you to be persistent could be because He is more concerned about a relationship with you than giving you handouts. He may simply want you to persist in prayer.

So, all said, listen to this: don’t give up. The blessing may be right around the corner. keep going! If the widow in our text eventually got the unjust judge attend to her request, our heavenly father will respond in a better way.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Persistency in prayers provokes powerful provisions.

PRAYER:
Father, help me not to be faint-hearted in the pursuit of Your purpose for my life.

BIBLE READING FOR THE YEAR:
2 Chronicles 23-24; Luke 9:18-36

CAN YOU AVOID SHORTCUT TO SUCCESS ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Text:
2 Samuel 18:19-30

Topic:
CAN YOU AVOID SHORTCUT TO SUCCESS❓

Memory verse:
2 Samuel 18:23

Message:
Success has come to mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Some see it from the perspective of Material and Title acquisitions, while others view it from the angle of the level of influence one is able to wield. In the midst of lots of opinions about success notwithstanding, there is the need to put into consideration the pathway of which success was achieved. Also, it is important to note that success is about one’s ability to stick to the particular commission or mandate which the owner of life gave to the person at the outset of life. Success
about faithfulness; hence, it has a lot to do with the way it was achieved.

Ahimaaz, in the scriptural passage, pressurised Joab to give him the opportunity to deliver the news concerning Absalom’s fate to King David. And between the place of warfare and where David was, is a very horrendous and mountainous route. However, the Bible remarks that he took the less demanding way; the shortcut, the easy way to reach his destination. The question is which way did you follow to your destination? What route are you taking to achieve your expectations? Some follow the route of promiscuity, cheating, fraudulent action, deceit, character assassination to achieve their so called success. The position you are occupying today, how did you get there?

The godly road to success demands the fear of God, patience, perseverance, humility, divine guidance etc. Any shortcut to success will always lead you to a wasted future and venture because the master will not approve it. Enduring success story always has a long road. The way of purposeful planning, prudence, diligence and persistence promises to be God glorifying and more rewarding.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
In the highway to godly success, the end will never justify the means; the means is a very important determinant to the genuine nature of the success.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me not to be faster than you.

BIBLE READING FOR THE YEAR:
2 Chronicles 34-36; Luke 11:29-54

ARE YOU STILL UNGRATEFUL❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Thursday 05 December 2019

Text:
Psalm 103:1-5

Topic:
ARE YOU STILL UNGRATEFUL❓

Memory verse:
Psalm 103:2

Message:
Two men were walking along one summer day. Soon, it became too hot to go any further and seeing a large plane tree nearby, they threw themselves on the ground to rest in its shade. Gazing up into the branches, one man said to the  other, what a useless tree this is; it does not have fruit or nuts that we can eat and we cannot even use it’s wood for anything.” Don’t be so ungrateful” rustled the tree in reply, “I am being extremely useful to you at this very moment, shielding you from the hot sun and you call me a good for nothing.”

Very often, our minds are full of thoughts concerning our needs that we tend to  forget to be thankful for the little graces we have received. When was the last time that you sat down to remember the common favours you get daily? Have you thought about about how much you might be required to pay for the air you breathe, if it was not freely given to you? How about the ability to freely urinate and defecate? What about the warmth you get from sunshine and the privilege of sleeping and waking up?

In truth, you are not alive because you drank five alive. It was not your alarm clock that woke you up this morning. Join the psalmist to vow not to forget all of God’s goodness and benefits to you. Make today, a day of thanksgiving. The Lord has indeed been kind enough to us since the beginning of this year. Try recounting all your blessings and start thanking Him.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Those who appreciate little favour get more.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to be more grateful.

2 Chronicles 25-27; Luke 9:37-62
