1 Samuel 17:31-50

TOPIC:
WHY NOT START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE❓

Memory Verse:
1 Samuel 17:50b

MESSAGE:
The problem with many people all over the world is that they are busy looking at, and complaining about what they do not have instead of thinking of and making use of what they have. Many people fix their eyes on the things that are lacking in their lives. They do not even ever consider the ones that are wasting without proper use in their lives. This is a wrong attitude towards life.

It should not be forgotten that Success is a Function of Effort and Effort put in the right direction
It should not also be forgotten that prosperity and success do not come from the things that are lacking or missing. Rather, they come from the things that are available and also been put into proper use.
King David is a perfect example of a man who considered and  put into use whatever he had available. His  encounter with Goliath illustrates this point better.

Goliath was a terrorist who taunted and tormented the entire nation of Israel. No one had courage to confront let alone fight him. The king had already conceded defeat. But, David arrived the scene, had confidence in the name of his God whom the uncircumcised Philistine mocked. He quickly announced to all his willingness to not not only challenge but also defeat and kill the man that mocked his God and the people of Israel.

When Saul heard of David’s decision, he clothed him with his garments and armour. But, Saul’s armour and garment became an impediments to David. He quickly removed them and told Saul he could not use them as they were strange to him. He took his sling and stones, which were laughed at and underrated by even the enemy, and confronted him in the name of the Lord and defeated him.

It does not matter how little or insignificant what you have may be. Trust in your GOD. Put it to into use. You shall see a miracle today!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Stop looking at the things you do not have. Consider the ones you have, no matter how small, and put them into use.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to put into use whatever You have given me.
