Message :
Making the best of any marriage is the responsibility of both the husband and the wife. A woman was always running to a sister’s house after receiving a very bad beating from her husband. On close enquiry, it was discovered that the problem was her husband and her people. They lived in her husband’s family house and her husband was always acting on his mother’s or elder brother’s complaint about his wife without hearing from his wife. It got so bad that the wife had to run for her dear life. She left the marriage with her children of both sexes.

The Scripture we read commands husband to love their wives as Christ loves the church. This means that the husband is under divine command to love and protect his wife to the extent that he will be sincerely ready to die for her, loving her like his own body. Therefore, the husband has to leave his father and mother and be joined unto his wife and they two shall become one flesh. The husband should not run his marriage as the head by the head by the contributions or dictates of his parents, siblings, friends or any other relation. This also applied to the wife.

So, daddy, as you read this message today, can you ask yourself these questions: have I really been the husband God designed and desired? Have I always taken the advice of my God-given helpmeet above others? Have I sought the opinion of others above my wife’s in the face of trouble? When last did I tell my wife, “I am sorry” Repent before God and your wife today.let this love be extended to your children too.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
Husband, love your wife and be not bitter against her.

PRAYER:
Oh Lord, give me grace to always be the husband You want me to be in Jesus’ name. Amen.
