DO YOU KNOW âť— THERE IS POWER IN POSITIVE CONFESSION âť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Thursday 17 September, 2020

Text:
Matthew 9:20-22

TOPIC:
DO YOU KNOWâť— THERE IS POWER IN POSITIVE CONFESSIONâť“

Memory Verse:
Proverb 18:21

MESSAGE:
It has been proven the years that one’s belief and, especially, confession have a large degree of influence over one’s circumstances. That is, whatever one believes and confesses repeatedly over one’s life shall definitely play out and materialise. This theory is confirmed by the female character of our study today.

According to the Scripture, the woman was suffering from hemorrhage for twelve years. Hemorrhage is “a medical condition in which a person bleeds too much and cannot stop the blood” (Merrriam – Webster dictionary). Following her condition, the sick woman sought help at the hands of physicans, and spent all she had. Yet, Her condition never got any better but, grew worse.

On a particular morning, the sick woman heard that Jesus was passing by. She went into the crowd and touched the cloak of Jesus. The Bible observes that she was saying to herself. “If I only touch His garment, I will get well”. That’s believe and positive confession! And true to her confession, she got well immediately she touched Jesus.

Dearly beloved, what have you been saying over your life and family? What have you been saying over your business, Office, Career, marriage, education, future, ministry, etc? Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Whatever you believe and say over your life shall eventually materialise. Speak positively today!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Death and Life are in the power of the tongue.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to speak positively over my life, family and Future every day.

BIBLE READING FOR THE YEAR:
Jeremiah 51-52; Philippians 3

WHY NOT COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER âť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Wednesday 16 September 2020

TOPIC:
WHY NOT COMPLIMENT EACH OTHERâť“

KEY VERSE:
“Two people are better off than one,for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble” (Ecclesiastes4:9-10).

TEXT:Eccl. 4:1-10

MESSAGE:
What do you do in your church? Who will do what is a question that every member must answer? However, the gifts and abilities of each person should be considered. One may be more qualified than another in a particular task. Why not use the player best qualified in that area.

This does not mean that once one person accepts a responsibility, the others will never offer to help with the task. Love seeks to help and often will. In Ecclesiastes, King Solomon wrote clearly about the value of TEAMWORK. As a couple, you can accomplish more together than you can as two different individuals because you are there to help each other. The Scriptures do not tell us exactly who should do what, but they do encourage us to agree on the answer.

The prophet Amos once asked, “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” (Amos 3:3). The answer is, “Not very far and not very well.” Please keep negotiating until both of you feel good about who is doing what in your family, Church, office, etc.
That one will pursue a thousand but two will pursue ten thousand clearly shows the power of complimenting each other.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
One is too small to accomplish greatness; we need each other.

PRAYER:
Lord, make me an effective team player.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Song of Solomon 6-8; Ephesians 2

WHY NOT ADMIT YOUR WRONGSâť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TUESDAY 15 September 2020

Text:
Hosea 5:10-15

TOPIC:
WHY NOT ADMIT YOUR WRONGSâť“

Memory Verse:
Hosea 5:15

Message:
The beauty of relationship is the reign of understanding and forgiveness. So long as we are still wearing flesh, we are all prone to offending people both consciously and unconsciously. But, troubles often start when we tend to have no regard for the feelings and hurts of the people we offend. When we put up such attitude, it affects people’s responses to us. Those who lack the courage to confront us will naturally hold their grievances and withhold whatever favours we might ever get from them. This poor relationship attitude is more detrimental when we bring it into our relationship with God.

The princes of Judah were adjudged to be like those who removed ancient landmark. In other words, they had violated the most scared laws of God upon which the ordinances of His worship and the rights and properties of men depend. They broke down the barrier between what was right and wrong; between truth and falsehood (Deuteronomy 27:17). Now rather than acknowledge their offences and plead for God’s mercy, they took the path of callousness. And consequently, God vowed to return back to His abode until they acknowledge their offences and sought His face.

Many sick and ailing relationships would be healed today, if the concerned persons accept to acknowledge their offences. This is exactly what the Lord will have us to do today.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
It takes humility to say, “I am sorry.” But, these three simple words can unlock a lot of closed doors.

PRAYER:
Lord, give me the courage and humility to admit it when I am wrong.

WHY NOT TRUST IN GOD’S WISDOM ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Monday 14 September 2020

Text :
Isaiah 46:1-13

Topic :
WHY NOT TRUST IN GOD’S WISDOM❓

Memory verse:
Isaiah 46:9-10

Message :
Some people make prayers they never receive answers and they wonder why it is easy to look at our current situations and wonder why things are happening the way they are. We wonder why the relationship didn’t work out; why the promotion went to someone else, or why the business deal did not go through. We can only see one moment at a time, but God knows how today’s situations will impact us in the future.

Sometimes, the best thing that can happen is the exact opposite of what we wished to happen at the time. God knows the end from the beginning, and He always has the sequence of events in our lives in perfect order. Stay in faith and trust that just as God opens doors, He also closes doors because He has something better in store for you. You are about to see new growth, new talents, new opportunities. Trust His wisdom because He is wiser than the wisest.

As you go out today, go with this song by Mari John Wilkin “One day at a time sweet Jesus, that’s all i’m asking from you; Lord help me today, show me the way, one day at a time.”

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
Trust God’s wisdom to guide and direct you today

PRAYER:
Father, help me to rely on Your wisdom alone. Amen.

Isaiah 1-2; Mark 1:1-22

IS IT NOT TIME TO ORGANISE YOURSELF âť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Saturday 12  September 2020

Text : PROV. 30: 24-31

Topic : IS IT NOT TIME TO ORGANISE YOURSELFâť“

Memory verse:
Proverbs 30:25

Message :
From the human perspective, ants are reputably among the tiniest insects on earth. Ants are too infinitesimal. We climb on them, crush them with the soles of our feet or with our finger – tips without even noticing. However, the text today reveals something special about the ants – they are meticulous and are always well – prepared . They prepare for their future so that they will not starve. How much of a planner are you? Do you live your life in a disorganised or shabby way? Really, this has nothing to do with your economic or spiritual status. How organised is your office, family, church and wherever you are in charge of?

You can achieve a lot more if you get more organised. Yes, you can, unfortunately, we live in a world that a typical person wants to lump up things and then later rummage the rubble. But as we look at the God we serve you will notice that we serve a God who is well organised. He created the heavens and the earth in an orderly pattern ( Genesis 1). God is not the author of confusion. He is a God of order. We therefore must emulate Him and be organised.

The truth is that one of the reasons we were not able to actualise some of our goals this year is that we were very much disorganised. One of the greatest favours we can do to ourselves as we approach the End of the Year is to take some time to organise our lives before we cross over into it New One, It is time to have an organised prayer life, financial plan, living and work environments. It is time to put things in order if we must move forward.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
Do not spiritualize organisational issues.

PRAYER:
Lord,  I ask for grace to be organised in every aspect of my life.

BIBLE READING FOR THE YEAR :
Malachi 1-4 ; Luke 24: 36-53
