HAVE YOU DECLARED TO YOUR SELF ❗IT SHALL BE WELL ❓

Text:
Isaiah 3:10-11

Topic:
HAVE YOU DECLARED TO YOUR SELF❗IT SHALL BE WELL❓

Memory verse:
Ecclesiastes 8:12

Message:
“It shall be well” is a futuristic statement. It speaks about what will happen later. It is in this regard that the text speaks. This is a sentence that has encouraged many believers from time immemorial.

From the text there are two classes of people in the world, the righteous and the wicked. Those living in obedience to the word of God are the righteous, while everyone that refuses to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour is the wicked.

The text reveals that the righteous is the focus of God’s love, favour, and blessings. The word of God is saying that in spite of the prevalent negative circumstances around you, the present economic situation around the world and the volatile political environment, IT SHALL BE WELL WITH THE RIGHTEOUS. This is a refreshing statement. However, it calls for a conscious examination of our lives. Are you among the righteous or the wicked? We need to answer this question honestly and make a serious self-assessment of our lives. As you do this, it shall be well with you in Jesus’ name.

God never allows His people to be swallowed up by the vagaries of life. God always send help in times of trouble. He delivered Daniel from the lion’s den. He made the fish to vomit Jonah who had spent three days in the belly of the fish. He gave David the grace to kill Goliath, the giant of Philistine, who was terrorising the army of Israel.  Live in Christ and depend on God. All shall be well with you.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
God sends help in times of trouble.

PRAYER:
Send me help, Oh Lord. Amen.

DO YOU KNOW ❗GOD CAN NEVER BE LATE ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL.

Thursday 30 July 2020

Text :
John 11:12-25

Topic :
DO YOU KNOW❗GOD CAN NEVER BE LATE❓

Memory verse:
John 11:21

Message:
Jesus was a friend of Lazarus, Mary and Martha. The Bible was silent about their parents. Probably they were orphans. When Lazarus took ill and his friend Jesus was notified about his ill -health, He left the place He was and went to another place and stayed for about four days. On hearing that Lazarus was dead, He told His disciples, our friend Lazarus is asleep (dead) let’s go and raise him up.

Our God is never late. He comes at the very niche of time. He always comes at the verge of our breakdown. The question may be, why would Jesus allow Lazarus to die before showing up? Why didn’t He heal him instead of raising him from the dead? Couldn’t He just speak a word without having to visit and Lazarus would be healed?

Sometimes, God allows our Lazarus to die instead of healing him or her. Sometimes He allows our Lazarus to die and yet He will not attend his or her funeral service in order that He can perform a miracle of resurrection. Sometimes we desire healing, but for Him, healing would not have as much impact as raising the dead. He could have cancelled that allegations and conspiracies before they could be carried out against you. However, He loves coming around when no man would share in His glory.

He comes when all hope is gone so that no man would glory in His presence. He wants to use that ugly situation in your life to reveal His unlimited powers. He is impossibility specialist. If He had come to your rescue earlier, it won’t be great news. He shows up when there is no hope at all. He shows up when men say there is a casting down, so that He can say there is a lifting up. “Then came Jesus…” to turn around a fore concluded shame from the pits of hell to His own glory. Your God is never late. Trust in His Judgment!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
When men say there is a casting down, heaven says there is a lifting up.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to always know that you are never late. Amen

HOW OFTEN DO YOU STAY IN HIS PRESENCE ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Numbers 17:1-12

Topic:
HOW OFTEN DO YOU STAY IN HIS PRESENCE❓

Memory verse:
Numbers 17:8

Message:
One of the greatest gifts we can receive from God is the gift of His presence. Five minutes in His presence can give you a live long favour. Virtues rub off on us in His presence. One will always contact the wisdom of God when one learns to stay in His presence. His power is in His presence. The very factor that is responsible for God’s kind of result is in His presence.
In His presence, huge possibilities for restoration abounds. Our faith is lifted in His presence. Nothing should grow when it is not connected to the earth, but in his presence Aaron’s rod budded. In the presence of God, rules change overnight, lifeless objects receive life in His presence. There is fruitfulness in His presence. There is healing, prosperity (name them all) in His presence.

Is your faith being challenged? Are there forces contesting your position or inheritance? Needless to worry, take the matter to His presence. It is worthy of note here that Moses rather than argue with His contestants, opted for access to divine presence and approval. The Ark of the Covenant signified the presence of Yahweh and overnight, the Lord proved Himself faithful. Evidence cancels arguments. Learn to take your matter into His presence.

No satanic plot can stand the evidence of His presence. Your situation may be as dry as Aaron’s rod but in His presence even a rod can bud, blossom and become fruitful. We serve a living God.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
In His presence there is fullness of joy.

PRAYER:
Lord, grant me access to Your wonder working presence. Amen.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE CURE FOR ANXIETY ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Tuesday 28 July, 2020

TOPIC:*
HAVE YOU SEEN THE CURE FOR ANXIETY❓

MEMORY VERSE:*

“”Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6).

TEXT:
PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

MESSAGE:

A lot of people are suffering from anxiety.
Anxiety is defined as fear or nervousness about what might happen; a painful or apprehensive uneasiness of mind usually over an impending or anticipated ill. The physiological signs of anxiety include Sweating,Tension and increased pulse. Its synonyms include worry and agitation. All human beings have various issues which they are anxious about such as health conditions, employment, marriage, and opportunity for further studies, examination, being pregnant, safe child delivery, food, clothing, security and safety, job security, shelter, financial security, success in life, etc.
Prayer houses and commercial prophets have added to the list through their so-called visions concerning their clients often which puII doom and disaster instead.
Anxiety is largely responsible for psychosomatic diseases, insomnia, heart problems, mental illness, accidents, and untimely deaths. The Bible is indeed the Book of books which addresses practically all issues of life, including anxiety.

Our text above gives God’s own solution to the problem of anxiety, not through drug addiction and other tranquilizers which have adverse effects on those who go for them but by prayer and thanksgiving to God who has promised to care for us, be with us and provide for us according to his riches in Jesus Christ. The result will be peace beyond
man’s comprehension. Our LORD JESUS has told us not to worry about food clothing, or even our heights but we should seek the kingdom of
God first then other things will be added to us (Matt.6:25-34).

God wants us to put our trust in him (Psalm 118:8-9; Jer.17:5-8) and cast our cares, worries on him (1pet. 5:7).He wants us to shun covetousness and be content with what we have, that he will not forsake us nor leave us alone in life.(Heb.13:5-7) The peace of God will fill our hearts when we walk in His will, pray for all our needs and involve Him in all our battles and challenges. Our days will not be without challenges that will trigger off anxiety but if you have God who lacks nothing as your father, trust Him to supply all your needs, for He cares.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS

The cure for anxiety is trusting in God.

PRAYER:

Anxiety is not my inheritance but peace in God. Amen.

ARE YOU DISCOURAGED ❓ YOU MIGHT BE CLOSER TO YOUR GOAL ❗

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Monday 27 July, 2020

Text:
2 Timothy 4:6-8

Topic:
ARE YOU DISCOURAGED❓YOU MIGHT BE CLOSER TO YOUR GOAL❗

Memory verse:
2 Timothy 4:7

Message:
Very often in life we are not rewarded because of things we started but on the account of the things we accomplished. No one has ever been awarded a trophy for starting a race. Rather, people receive trophies for being the first to cross the rubicon or touch the ribbon. The point of today’s message is that we should not allow any circumstances to discourage or stop us from reaching the goals we are set out to attain. We should rather learn to press harder and keep pushing ourselves further towards fulfilling our destinies.

The story of the case between Mr. Philip Reis and Alexander Graham Bell drives home this point. It was said that it was Mr. Philip Reis that practically built telephone. But it so happened that what Mr. Reis built could only produce musical tones but failed to transmit speech telegraphically. He got frustrated and abandoned the work. A few years later, Mr. Bell while studying the project discovered Mr. Ries error; he only needed to adjust one little screw, and he did the adjustment. Consequently, he got credited for the invention of the telephone. Ries took Graham to court but the supreme Court ruled the matter in favour of Alexander Graham Bell.

It is axiomatic that many people fail in life because they did not know how close they were to success when they gave up. Let it not be said you almost won. A little adjustment of a life screw can give you the success you have long desired. Don’t stop almost there.

The concluding part of the race may become tougher and weary but please always encourage yourself with these words, “I won’t stop until I have it.”

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Finishing well should be our utmost concern

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to be a good finisher. Amen.

DO YOU KNOW ❗ IT WILL SURELY END IN PRAISE ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Psalms 126:1-3
Proverbs 23:17-19

Topic:
DO YOU KNOW ❗IT WILL SURELY END IN PRAISE❓

Memory verse:
Psalms 126:3, Proverbs 23:18

Message:
Jerusalem was a city once known for her strong security and impregnability during the Bible days. The inhabitants never believed that a day shall come when their city will be conquered. However, it happened. Jerusalem fell woefully into the hands of the enemy and was conquered. Eventually, the Lord redeemed it, to His glory.

What are you passing through in life? There might be things that have happened in your life you never believed they could happen. You never envisaged those bad events that have terribly affected you. You never thought you will find yourself in the situations you are in right now. Yet they happened. Cheer up! These are just the realities of life.

Unfortunately, some Christians believe that coming to Christ means a trouble free -life. Brethren, we didn’t come to Christ so that we won’t have troubles. However, one thing is sure, troubles won’t have us because we have Christ. We are already Christ’s property and thus troubles will not over whelm us.

God has not promised us smooth voyage but safe landing. The presence of Christ in the boat doesn’t mean there won’t be storms of life. However, he will take you safely ashore.

What you are going through right now will end up in praise and uncommon testimonies. Child of God, no matter what is happening right now in your life, despite the report and what the devil is saying, be assured that what you are going through right now will not kill you. Gear up. Keep living a righteous life, keep serving Jesus and your miracle will surely come. Everything will end in praise!

NB: Proverbs 23:18 says surely It must come to an END, and the expectations of the RIGHTEOUS will not be cut off

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
God will deliver us from our troubles.

PRAYER:
Lord help me to hold on to you until the storm is over. Amen.

DO YOU KNOW ❗MOST TROUBLES ARE DIVINE CONNECTED ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Friday 24 July 2020

Text:
Jonah 1

TOPIC:
DO YOU KNOW ❗ MOST TROUBLES ARE DIVINE CONNECTED❓

MEMORY VERSE:
Jonah 1:4

Message:
Not every trouble we go through in life is demonic or satanic as most people believe. We have a good God that loves to give good gifts to His people. But sometimes, He allows some level of troubles come our way to help navigate our way to our appointed place in destiny or perhaps to bring us back to divine order.

From our opening scripture, we see Jonah running away from divine assignment. The Bible declares that the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea and there was mighty tempest, speaking of God’s sovereignty over His creation. Child of God, running away from divine Instructions or Responsibility Attracts Troubles. We are too quick to allege every trouble we face as satanic. Ask yourself today: what I am going through is it truly satanic in origin or divinely allowed? Zacharias was made dumb because he tried to distort divine program through his doubt (Luke 1:18-20). Thus we attract divine troubles when we try to distort divine program.

Sometimes too, the troubles we go through are not because we have done any bad or that we are out of God’s Will, rather they are necessary bends, valleys and hill tops we must go through in order to be thoroughly prepared for the assignment God has for us. In that case God protects and provides us with the comforts with which we shall comfort others. Whichever is your present experience, please be assured that God does not act wickedly.

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
Our momentary troubles serve to lead us back on track or prepare us for the future.

PRAYER:
Father, grant me the grace to come out of my troubles with testimonies. Amen.

DO YOU HAVE A SPIRITUAL TRACK RECORD ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Thursday 23 July 2020

Text:
1Samuel 17:31-37

TOPIC:
DO YOU HAVE A SPIRITUAL TRACK RECORD❓

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Samuel 17:33

Message:
A track record is a detailed account of one’s dealings in a particular sphere of life. It is clear documented history of a person’s life. A spiritual tract record will therefore imply a compendium of one’s impact and contributions in matters relating to life beyond this realm. Most people want to enter into realms of the miraculous yet they do not have a track record of consistent prayer life, discipline, diligence, holy living, faithfulness, studying of the word, submission and the likes.

The truth remains that GREATNESS can never happen to a man who ignores the power of track records. As a CHILD of God, anointing is not the only prerequisite for people to believe in you, someone in your history must be able to testify of the hand of God upon your life that has been sustained. People’s loyalty to you is not just because of the power or influence you command but the evidence of track records in your life working regularly. This also applies in other spheres of life. With power of track records, even with your failures, you will still succeed. People can easily trust you when you have a track record.

When David appeared before King Saul, he said to David, Goliath has a track record of being a warrior from his youth. David immediately reminded Saul about his own track records of killing both a bear and a lion and posited that Goliath will be like one of them. Track records create confidence and boost morale.

The question today is: do you have a spiritual track record?
Can people draw strength from the account of your dealings with God?
Do you have Spiritual Encounters that will serve as object lessons for the next generation?
If another Bible were to be written in your generation, what will be said about you?
The time to make impact is now.

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
Positive track records create room for credibility and commendation.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to maintain worthwhile track records. Amen.

DO YOU KNOW❗ GOD HAS PLANS FOR YOU ❓

Text:
Jeremiah 29:10-14

Topic:
DO YOU KNOW ❗GOD HAS PLANS FOR YOU❓

Memory verse:
Jeremiah 29:11

Message
Beloved, God has plans for you, great plans. It does not matter what tough situations you are currently going through, GOD has great plans for your life. Please, bring yourself to his conviction this morning. God has completely fashioned out your life for the very best.

If we Juxtapose our key verse above with the situation of the Israelites at the time, everything would simply not make sense. Israel was to be taken into captivity for seventy years. They were to be exiles and slaves at far away Babylon. Yet, God was telling them, “I know the plans I have for you…” despite all that. At no time has the Lord promised His people problem – free – life. Rather, He has assured that when they “Walk through the fire, He would be there with them!”

Please stop worrying over your current ugly situations! GOD is telling you that He has “Plans for welfare (good things) not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Whatever the problem is, however bad it appears, God stll has a better plan. He cannot ignore you to perish there. He is planning something good and marvelous for you. Rest assured, there is a great future ahead of you Hope for the best. Expect the best! For, there is no wickedness in God!

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
GOD has great plans for your life.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to trust and understand that You have great plans for my life irrespective of whatever I am passing through. Amen.

WHY NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Tuesday 21 July 2020

Text:
1 Samuel 15:7-16

TOPIC:
WHY NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY❓

MEMORY VERSE:
1Sam. 15:3

Message:
We live in times where and when people blame everyone else for what is happening in their lives. From the leaders to the led, parents to children, government to the masses, school teachers to the pupils, pastors to the congregations, and vice versa. Many people no longer take responsibility for their own actions or inactions.

When their plans turn out as planned, they are so happy to announce, “we made it” However, when things turn out not as planned, the language changes. We tend to blame everyone and everything but ourselves when we fail to meet up without responsibilities. We are more interested in passing the blame to other person.

In our text, God expressly told king Saul what to do. God said to him, “Go to Amalek and utterly destroy everything and everyone….” The instructions to Saul the leader was unequivocal and clear. But what did saul do? He spared Agag the king of Amalek. He spared some livestock so as to “sacrifice” unto the Lord. And when confronted, he quickly pointed accusing fingers at the people. He didn’t want to take responsibility. He failed in his duties as a leader. It takes humility to admit our mistake. King Saul is a type of some present leaders, who blame others for their own failures rather than accept and correct their mistakes.

Leaders, whether in the family,  church or society at general, should learn to accept responsibilities. Blaming people, witches and wizards for our failures will not do us any good. Let us learn from the mistakes of king Saul today not to allow ourselves to be pushed off the track on our assignments. Let us take responsibilities as leaders and guide our followers aright.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Trading blames does not bring profit, accepting responsibilities does.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to accept my mistakes and take responsibility for my actions. Amen.
