DO YOU KNOW ❗IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Text :
Eccl. 9:10 – 13

Topic :
DO YOU KNOW❗IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME❓

Memory verse:
Ecclesiastes 3:11

Message:
The difference between a man who is high up in politics, business, ministry, etc, and the one who is down the line struggling might just be a matter of time, other variables notwithstanding. It’s a matter of time where you are now is not your destination. You might be passing through a dark tunnel of rejection, frustration, persecution, intimidation accusations, lack, sicknesses, deaths, etc, believe it’s a matter of time. There shall be light at the end of the tunnel, if you don’t give up. Be encouraged, never to give up!

It is as sure as heaven that you won’t remain in your present circumstances forever. God will soon bring you out of that ugly situation and to your promised Land. It’s your time and season to be favoured. God is about to pull you out of that situation. God is about to bring you out of that horrible experience.

God will pay your debts and settle your bills. You will come out of that mess with a message that would impact your generation. God is opening doors for you. People shall celebrate you. You will triumphantly overcome that temptation. Praise God, for He can do more than we ask or imagine.

“He makes everything beautiful in his time…” (Eccl. 3:11). The time to favour you has come. Joseph was in the prison for  two years, but one day one day he was brought to the palace and was made a Prime Minister of Egypt the same day. Modecai was a gate man for years, but with the turn of events, he was made second in command in a strange land . Even here in Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo became the Nigerian civilian president from prison. There are also many examples of this. It’s just a matter of time. Wait and don’t give up.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Be patient. God’s time is the best.

PRAYER:
Lord help me to wait for Your time and season. Amen.

ARE YOU NOT MORE THAN CONQUERORS ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Tuesday 14th July, 2020

*TOPIC:*
ARE YOU NOT MORE THAN CONQUERORS❓

MEMORY VERSE:

“Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms” (James 5:13).

TEXT
ROM. 8:35-39, JAMES 5:13

MESSAGE

In Romans, Paul gives the list of some excruciating experiences which followers of Christ will face in the world. They include trouble, hardship, persecution,
famine, nakedness, danger, sword and death. We can add unemployment, bereavement, barrenness, not being married, etc. One word for all these may
be tribulations, sponsored by Satan with the aim of weakening the faith of the child of God or separating him or her completely from Christ.

There is yet any true follower of Christ who has never been through tribulations, (Acts 14:22; Phil. 1:29) Psalm 34:17 says, *the righteous will have many troubles but from which the Lord will deliver him.* Paul was an amazing spiritual colossus, yet an angel of Satan buffeted him with a thorn in his flesh and to worsen matters, God denied him deliverance despite his intense prayers (2 Cor. 12:7-10). According to the Scripture, this thorn was to make him humble and God gave him sufficient grace to bear it.

Although a Child of God will cry in tribulation and some people laugh at him or her and give misleading interpretations, God will always give them sufficient grace, comfort and beautiful testimonies at the end. The Bible says we should be patient in triburation, (Rom. 12:10), rejoice in tribulation, (Rom 5:3), endure hardship (2Tim. 2:3), pray when in trouble (James 5:13). Second Corinthians 4 tells us of the indescribable glory that awaits us if we don’t lose heart in tribulations. Therefore, as Apostle Paul testifies, we shall emerge triumphant, Stronger in faith, in every tribulation in the name of Jesus. Our love for the LORD will not be diminished by hardship. Let us not laugh at those who are in affliction as though it is because of their sins, lack of faith or poor prayer Iife. Isaac, the covenant child of Abraham had a decent marriage yet was, barren for 20 years (Genesis 25). No matter what you are going through, you are more than conquerors.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS

Believers are more than conquerors.

PRAYER

May i see my victory, even in times of trouble in Jesus’ name, Amen.

ARE YOU STILL MURMURING ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Monday 13 July 2020

Text:
Exodus 16:2, 17:1-4

TOPIC:
ARE YOU STILL MURMURING❓

MEMORY VERSE:
Phil. 1:14

Message:
One of the major things a Christian should avoid is murmuring. It is extremely dangerous to murmur. From the text we read, the Israelites murmured against Moses and God when they had no water and food to eat in the wilderness, they were remembering the fish, cucumbers and onions they ate in Egypt.

Today, many things cause children of God to murmur including: the unbecoming attitude of some leaders, administrative inefficiency, delayed promises and deferred expectations. But whatever the reasons might be, we must learn to overcome the temptation to murmur. We should avoid murmuring because it angers God (Numb. 11:1). God may take you at your word as your word as you murmur. Murmuring causes others to murmur. Murmuring is infectious(Num. 11:5).

How to overcome it is by being grateful to God. Keep praising Him, knowing that victory will come. Apply the word of God in every situation of life. Remember, there are people praying to be like you right now.

Murmuring is sin against God. It drives away the Holy Spirit and makes us think that God hates us. Rather than giving your life to murmuring, show gratitude to God and count your blessings. It will surprise you what God has done. Maintain a life of praise and worship. God will make all things to be for your good.

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
Complaining doesn’t solve problems, it attracts them.

PRAYER:
Oh Lord, help me not to live a life of ingratitude Amen.

HAVE YOU DISCOVERED YOUR PURPOSE FOR LIVING ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL.

Saturday 11th JULY, 2020

Text:
Genesis 37:1 -11

Topic:
HAVE YOU DISCOVERED YOUR PURPOSE FOR LIVING❓

Memory verse:
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Message:
There is a purpose to everything under heaven. God is a God of purpose and every human being on earth has a purpose for living. Have you discovered your Own purpose for living???? The narration of Joseph’s dreams could be regarded as local and impossible. The first dream was in a farm and the second one had to do with celestial bodies. However, Joseph discovered and fulfilled his purpose.
When your purpose is not known, the abuse of existence becomes inevitable and when existence is abused, you lose relevance. According to Frank Sonnenberg an English American Writer, there are threads that bind a life with purpose.

Firstly📌, live by your beliefs and values. Core beliefs and values influence your decisions and determine your short and long term priorities.

Secondly,📌 set priorities.  Identify activities that matters most to you and spend our lives.

Thirdly,📌 follow your passion. Put your heart into everything you do. Pursue your dream with fervor. Dream as if you will live forever and live as if you will die today.

Fourthly,📌 achieve balance and maximize your potentials. Put your heart into your career and into building relationships with friends and family.

Fifthly,📌 feel content. Have an inner peace. Be satisfied with who you are and what you have. The grass is greener on your own side of the fence.

Sixthly,📌 with a difference. Make a meaningful difference in someone else’s life. “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.”

Lastly📌 but not the least, live in the moment. Cherish every moment and seek to live life without regret.

No matter the challenges that you have in life, be encouraged that the Lord will help you to fulfill your purpose in life. Just lean on Him and the season of fulfilment will certainly come… IAM expecting to hear AMEN from you…

CONTROLLINGTHOUGHTS:
Live a purposeful life.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me know and fulfill my purpose for living. Amen.

CAN YOU INFLUENCE OTHERS❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Friday 10 July 2020

Text:
PHIL. 3:12- 18

TOPIC:
CAN YOU INFLUENCE OTHERS❓

MEMORY VERSES:
PHIL. 3:17

Message:
Today, we shall start the devotional with a story… Throughout her days at the Abia State University.
Chiamaka was exceptional and outstanding. She lived a very simple life style contrary to her sophisticated life style before she got born again. At a point, her friends started looking like her, both in speech and appearance. People could easily identify her and her friends because they dressed differently from others. A remarkable change in the life of a believer can attract others to live like the believer.

From the text we read, Paul the great man of God is our model. Paul, as we know before his conversion, was a Doctor of Law, a member of the Sanderin, a great persecutor of believers and a member of the ruling class. He was no mean man in his time. But when he met Christ, his life changed from what he was notoriously known for “persecutor of believers” to “an example of a believer”.

Having reminded us of the need to persevere in our walk with God, he challenge believers to join others in following his example. This piece of advice is very important to believers today because many are dangerously drifting away from God’s standard. If a man of these vast pedigree will later serve God with devotion and whole hearted commitment, you can as well. He had a focus and his focus was heaven. Has Christ in any way remarkably changed your life attainments? How do you influence people for the Kingdom of God? Can you boldly say to people follow my steps? Can people access your devotion to God and choose to follow you? Please, live a life that will influence others positively

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
You will never influence the world by trying to look like it. Stay Godly.

PRAYER:
Oh Lord, to be like Jesus is all I want, give me the grace. Amen.

Please❗ DON’T BE A FOOL❗Biko

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THURSDAY 09 July 2020

Text:
Proverbs 9:6-10; Matthew 7:24-27

TOPIC:
PLEASE ❗DON’T BE A FOOL.. Biko❗

MEMORY VERSES:
Proverbs 9:8

Message:
A fool is a person who acts unwisely or imprudently, a silly person. There are so many lessons to learn from the Bible about foolish people. A fool does not learn from his  mistakes. The Bible gives us quite a few characteristics of foolish people that can help us better understand their behavior and learn  to avoid their habits or mind sets. A fool does not desire the instructions of the Bible and will not adhere to its wisdom. The following are the behaviors of a fool and every child of God should know:

He speaks without reasoning (Prov.17:27-28)

He meddles in the matters of others (Prov. 26:17)

He has no self – control (Prov. 25:28)

He speaks quickly (Prov.29: 11-20)

He never plans ahead (Prov. 19; 2, 14; 15):

He puts his hope in money (Prov. 11:28, 15:16)

He is stingy (Prov.28:22, 19:17);

He is easily enticed (Prov. 7;21-23)

He is  stubborn (Prov. 12:15)

And he repeats mistakes (Prov. 26:11)

The book of Ephesians 5:15-17 admonishes us to be very careful. We are asked to live, not as fools, but as the wise, making the most of every opportunity. The Lord gives us wisdom and from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Wisdom is available, all we need to do is to go ask for it. Pray for freedom from all foolish tendencies.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Do not rest in the ease and comfort of foolishness.

PRAYER:
Father, endow me with wisdom from above.

WHAT APPRECIATION ❗DO YOU HAVE ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Tuesday 7 April 2020

Text :
1 Sam 30:11-18; Isaiah 53:3-7

Topic :
WHAT APPRECIATION❗ DO YOU HAVE❓

Memory verse:
Mark 10:45

Message:
People give something in exchange for what they receive in turn. It is a mark of appreciation. Even in our society today, when someone does something or gives something to you,  you are expected to do something in return for appreciation. In the Old Testament, David and his men came back to Ziklag to meet the city invaded and their wives, children and belongings taken away. They met an Egyptian servant boy who was abandoned by his Master because he was weak and dying of hunger. But they picked him, gave him food, water and revived him. In appreciation, the boy led them to the invaders’ Camp and they defeated the invaders and recovered all.

The Son of man, Our Lord Jesus Christ, came to the world, He committed no sin, but gave His life as a ransom to deliver a people that knew Him not. The book of Isaiah where we read says he bore our grief and our sorrow; He was wounded and brusied for our own sins. He had no sin, but the sins of us all who had gone astray were laid upon Him, yet He did not complain. We that were supposed to have been condemned are set free for the love of one Man. A popular song says:

Jesus who render His life for us, what have you done for him… He died on the cross for you and me, He shed His blood for all of us, He died on the cross for you and me, what have you done for Him?

The Egyptian slave boy did something for David and his men in appreciation for saving his life. The Lord Jesus is not asking so much from us. He only asks that we give Him a space in our lives. Invite Him into your life as your Lord and Saviour and into all that you do and you will see tremendous changes, even restoration in every aspect of your life.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS
Reciprocate His love by asking Him into your life

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I surrender all to you today, come in and takeover.

HAVE YOU TRIED PRAISES ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Sunday 05 April 2020

Text :
2 CHRON. 20:22-30

Topic :
HAVE YOU TRIED PRAISES❓

Memory verse:
2 CHRON. 20:22

Message:
There are some issues in life that defy almost every solution. You may have prayed all manner of prayers, made sacrifices, spent money on drugs, received counsel from trusted men of God, yet no solution. The Bible encourages you today to try praises. Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah tried it and it worked wonders for them.

The people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir came against Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah to battle. King Jehoshaphat was so terrified by such great army. He knew that he and his people were no match to such great army from three different countries. So he turned to He that is Omnipotent, He that fights without gun and machete yet never loses any battle. King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah turned to go with God to the battle in praise and worship, extolling the God of Israel. The passage we read says that the Lord laid ambush against their attackers and they were smitten and totally defeated.

God is still performing wonderful miracles even today. We may not know what your own case is but that God that defeated the great army that came against Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah through praises, is still the same today and tomorrow. Can you put the problems down and begin to praise Him? Try it and watch out. He will surely step in.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
Put down your problems and raise praises to the Omnipotent God

PRAYER:
As I lift my voice in praise, Oh Lord, may you step into the following issues of my life (mention them) and give me victory, Amen.

ARE YOU STILL IN FEAR ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Saturday 04 April 2020

Text :
2 Kings 6:12 -20

Topic :
ARE YOU STILL IN FEAR❓

Memory verse:
Number 13 : 33

Message:
Fear is an emotion experienced when anticipating some specific danger. It is a

F”= False
E”= Expression
A”= Appearing
R”= Real
This type of feeling will usually cause the person a desire to flee. Fear is not just dangerous, it is murderous. It kills it’s candidate before the bow and arrow arrive. It is more dangerous than danger itself. That is why it is believed that many people that die in a crash die out of fear. For fear, some will try to jump out through the window, roof or even the door before the driver stops. In fact, fear destroys.

The purpose of fear is as evil as itself. It is meant to limit the candidate by trying to stop him from seeing and knowing the possibilities of life. It makes the candidate to always see the negative side of every issue of life. Fear has stopped uncountable number of people at the edge of their breakthroughs in life, dragging them  many miles backward. It is a great barrier to life’s progress and achievements. Unlike Caleb in our key text today, the other spies saw themselves as grasshoppers and the inhabitants as Giants; the same people that had lost their minds because of them. Fear made them see the problem before them as insurmountable and concluded they were not able.

In our main text, the king of Syria had dispatched battalion soldiers to go after Elisha, the man of God, for revealing all his secret plans to the king of Israel. When the servant of the man of God saw the large army, he was fear stricken. If not for Elisha, the man of God,  he might have hidden himself, run away or even fainted. Thank God for a man like Elisha his spiritual and physical eyes were at alert and very clear. The simple way he handled the situation indicates that he had great confidence in His God, the God of Israel.

My pastor told a story that sounded like a parable. One day, many people died in a particular hospital. Somebody met death on the way and congratulated him for the killing;  but death quickly said no, he did not kill them. Rather fear killed them, that he had not even crossed the street not talk of killing anybody. They only heard that he was passing and out of fear, they died.

Do you have fears? Ask God to give you grace to overcome them. God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Do not allow that intimidation anymore. For He that is in you is greater than he that is in them all.
Try and replace your ‘FEAR’ with ‘FAITH’ as the two words are contagious. Fear is Negative and Faith is Positive. Chose one!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
Fear has stopped many at the edge of their breakthroughs.

PRAYER:
Oh Lord, grant me the spirit of boldness. Amen

DO YOU KNOW ❗ GODS MERCY CAN LOCATE YOU ANYWHERE ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Thursday 26 March 2020

Text :
Luke 18:35 -43

Topic :
DO YOU KNOW❗GODS MERCY CAN LOCATE YOU ANYWHERE❓

Memory verse:
Psalm 25:10

Message:
The mercies of God know no bounds. His Mercy locates a man wherever he is and at any time. All that God does is full of His mercy towards mankind. He is super rich in mercy. Our key verse today declares that all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth. He is unlimited; that is why He can reach out to a man wherever he is. Even in the darkest tunnel, He locates a man there.

A sister was traveling to a nearby village to buy foodstuff for sale few years ago. She entered a vehicle, but unknown to her, the other people she thought were fellow passengers were all ritualist. She tried preaching to them but they hushed her. She
Said she continued praying silently for the mercy of God and suddenly the presence of God came down. The same people that were so harsh and mean’ became unusually friendly even calling her mummy. She was taken to a building in a thick forest but before they opened the car door, she called the one that appeared like the leader and asked him, “My son, look at me, you have been calling me ‘ Mummy’ for some time now. If I am your real mum will you bring me here to be slaughtered like an animal?”. The man was quiet for some time. Then, he started the engine, drove close to the road and dropped her without saying a word, The mercy of God located her right there in that forest and in time, too.

The mercy of God moved Jesus to locate Blind Bartimaeus where he was. Mercy moved to Jericho, so on His way, the candidate of His Mercy was located. He received his sight and followed Jesus on his way glorifying God.

Are you in the dungeon, the type Jeremiah was thrown into? Or, are you thrown into a lion’s den like Daniel? If mercy located those prophets of God including that sister, don’t kill yourself. The mercy of God will locate you concerning that issue today whatever you may be.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
God’s mercy will compel heaven to locate you.

PRAYER:
Oh Lord, locate me with your mercy today. Amen.
