DO YOU KNOW❗MERCY CAN LOCATE YOU ANYWHERE❓
Memory verse:
Psalm 25:10
Message:
The mercies of God know no bounds. His Mercy locates a man wherever he is and at any time. All that God does is full of His mercy towards mankind. He is super rich in mercy. Our key verse today declares that all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth. He is unlimited; that is why He can reach out to a man wherever he is. Even in the darkest tunnel, He locates a man there.
A sister was traveling to a nearby village to buy foodstuff for sale few years ago. She entered a vehicle, but unknown to her, the other people she thought were fellow passengers were all ritualist. She tried preaching to them but they hushed her. She said she continued praying silently for the mercy of God and suddenly the presence of God came down. The same people that were so harsh and mean became unusually friendly even calling her mummy. She was taken to a building in a thick forest but before they opened the car door, she called the one that appeared like the leader and asked him, “My son, look at me, you have been calling me ‘ Mummy’ for some time now. If I am your real mum will you bring me here to be slaughtered like an animal?”. The man was quiet for some time. Then, he started the engine, drove close to the road and dropped her without saying a word, The mercy of God located her right there in that forest and in time, too.
The mercy of God moved Jesus to locate Blind Bartimaeus where he was. Mercy moved to Jericho, so on His way, the candidate of His Mercy was located. He received his sight and followed Jesus on his way glorifying God.
Are you in the dungeon, the type Jeremiah was thrown into? Or, are you thrown into a lion’s den like Daniel? If mercy located those prophets of God including that sister, don’t kill yourself. The mercy of God will locate you concerning that issue today whatever you may be.
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
God’s mercy will compel heaven to locate you.
PRAYER:
Oh Lord, locate me with your mercy today. Amen.

ARE YOU PREPARED FOR GOD’S PROSPERITY ❓
DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Text:
Genesis 22:12-18
TOPIC:
ARE YOU PREPARED FOR GOD’S PROSPERITY❓
Memory Verse:
3 John 1:2
MESSAGE:
The word ‘prosper’ according to English Dictionary is to be successful, to succeed, to be fortunate or prosperous, to thrive, and to make gain, to grow and increase. God has all of the above in mind towards us in the above Scripture. It is His will that we lack nothing; but live in plenty.
Even as the Psalmist says, “They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shall make them drink of the river of thy pleasures” (Ps. 36:5). God has also said, “No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly” (PS. 84:11). Paul added that “God has given us richly all things to enjoy” (1 Tim. 6:17).
But remember, He blesses the works of our hands. Your business, career, ministry, etc., is a channel God can use to prosper you. God hates idleness and crooked ways. Find something to do and then commit thy ways unto Him. Trust your ways unto the Lord, and He shall direct them (Prov. 3:5-6), and altogether bless and prosper you.
Meanwhile, we need to ask, “Lord, what is the test I need to pass or the sacrifice I need to make in order to be qualified for Your avowed blessings?” When Abraham passed his own test, God made a covenant to bless him.
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
God has a prosperity agenda for us but we must be prepared to take it.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to meet all the requirements for divine prosperity.

WHY NOT UPGRADE YOUR INTEGRITY PROFILE ❓
DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Friday 04 September 2020
Text:
Psalm 119:4 -8
TOPIC:
WHY NOT UPGRADE YOUR INTEGRITY PROFILE❓
Memory Verse:
Psalm 119:5
Message:
Many times, we wonder how David came to be the man after God’s heart. Without doubt, one of the things that endeared David to God was the integrity of his heart (Psalm 78: 72). A life with integrity, even if he lacks the trappings of Fame and fortunes is a shining star in whose light others may follow in years to come. This is amply true of the life of David. He has remained a shining example of integrity. Today, the psalmist shares with us how he was able to upgrade his intergrity profile.
We understand here that the secret to a higher living is not in comparing ourselves with others. It is not in trying to see whom we are better off than. In fact, the scriptures makes it categorically clear that when we compare ourselves with others, we become fools.
However, the revelation of God’s word is that if indeed we want to improve on our character and upgrade our integrity profile, we should form it as a habit to daily compare our lifestyles with God’s commands. We should strive to make our actions to consistently reflect God’s decrees. We should make His righteous regulations our daily regulations. It is by so doing that we can find ourselves actually living as we should.
Today, we see people seeking academic upgrade daily. The brain never grows old. You can still get a degree at any age. Many improve their skills. Sports men and women train to improve and remain relevant. Sincerely put, if you know any area of integrity deficiency, rise up today; do something practical to upgrade your integrity profile.
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
If you don’t have integrity, you have nothing.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me develop and keep upgrading my integrity.

DO YOU KNOW ❗ SUCCESS ATTRACTS ATTACK ❓
DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Thursday 3rd September, 2020
Text:
Exodus 1:8-12
Topic:
DO YOU KNOW ❗SUCCESS ATTRACTS ATTACK ❓
Memory verse:
Exodus 1:9
Message:
A tree without fruits does not attract stones. In the same vein, people will not attack you unless they are afraid of or envious of your success, progress and beautiful future. A look at our text explains better.
A new Pharaoh arose in Egypt. He was different from the Pharaoh that ruled when Joseph was alive. He knew nothing about Joseph or the good works he did for Egypt. Instead, his concern was that the Israelites were increasing in numbers in Egypt and that was a potential threat to the existence of Egypt.
Thus, Pharaoh reasoned with his people and said, “We must find a way to put an end to this, if we don’t and if war breaks out, they will join our enemies and fight against us”. When people don’t know your history, they will say all sorts of things against you. When they don’t know how far you have come, they will fear and become suspicious of your progress and growth. If they become suspicious of your progress, they will think of ways to stop you.
But, no one can stop a man whose season to shine has come! That was the case of Israel. Pharaoh’s fears, schemes and attempts to stop Israel by inflicting heavy sufferings, hard labour and ruthless brutality failed. Don’t be discouraged by opposition. They may attack you but they can’t stop you. keep your heart pure. Be wise. No power can stop what God is doing. The scripture records, “But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more quickly the Israelites multiplied!” This shall be your testimony, too.
CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
No one can stop a man whose season to shine has come.
PRAYER:
Lord, I believe my season to make progress has come and nothing can stop me. Amen.

ARE YOU MAKING GOD’S WORD MEANINGFUL ❓
DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Text:
Nehemiah 8:1-8
Acts 8:26 -31
TOPIC:
ARE YOU MAKING GOD’S WORD MEANINGFUL❓
Memory Verse:
Nehemiah 8:8
Message:
Nothing is as important and life – changing as the word of God becoming meaningful to the readers or hearers. It brings joy, relieves fears and upgrades our faith. Helping someone understand God’s word is one of the biggest favours we can show to show to such person.
When the Holy Spirit urged Philip to Join the chariot of the Ethiopian Eunuch, it was for the primary task of helping him understand the meaning of what was written in Isaiah 53, which was a prophecy concerning the Messiah. You will also notice that Ezra and a band of Levitical preachers did not hesitate to expound the written word of God in such a way that the hearers understood what God was saying to them.
We are living in a time when many people do not even read the Bible let alone understand it. Worse still is that this is the time, in prophecy, when there shall be a famine of God’s word. It, therefore, behooves us to heed God’s call to help people find meaning in His word. It depends on how you will be led, you can start a Bible study group; you can sign up to be a Sunday school teacher or you can bring out one day in the week to go out and help someone find meaning in God’s word. Make that choice now but do not not let today pass without stopping to help someone find meaning in God’s Word.
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
The Bible needs to be explained in order to be properly understood.
PRAYER:
Lord, please help me to have better understanding of Your word and Inspire me to also help others to do so.

DO YOU KNOW ❗ THERE IS TOMORROW ❓

TUESDAY 01 SEPTEMBER 2020
Text :
Matthew 24:36 – 44
Topic :
DO YOU KNOW❗ THERE IS TOMORROW❓
Memory verse:
Matthew 24:42
Message:
Many people live as if the world will end today by the way they talk, behave towards others, eat, drink and in fact carry on their lives. The Scripture admonishes believers to be wise on all their ways. The unbeliever terms the wise counsel of the Bible as foolishness but that is where the power of God is revealed ( 1Cor. 1:18). Even the most stupid man who owns a house will not leave his house without regulations. The Bible is God’s regulation for living on Earth.
Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan, the wife of the former President of Nigeria, at the currency of their administration shouted out in utter bewilderment, “There is God ooo.” She was embarrassed by the unfathomable impunity by which people behaved and talked when government business is the subject matter. On the hand, people do not behave as though there is tomorrow or days of reckoning.
Everyone living on this planet Earth must come to terms with his time-tested truth. Some of us occupying some strategic political positions often forget that power and position are ephemeral. Even in the ecclesiastical domain, the experience is not different. Whatever privileged position or outstanding stride a person secures is not different alone. Millions that are better were denied that the ‘Mordecais’ and ‘Esthers’ might emerge. Elijah went to Zeraphat, not to see the King but a poor dying widow. You are an economic Colossus, not for yourself but that helpless woman and helpless man beside you. You are saved to save others, empowered to empower others. God is still looking for men who will stand in the gap to save others. Whenever and wherever He finds them, He manifests such figures.
To say, “There is no scripture against one’s Christian liberty,” is to repeat in substance the sneer of Cain, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Undisciplined ambition can undo the young man or lady that looks up to you as a model. Think about the future implications of your decisions and actions because there is tomorrow. The world may not be ending today, after all!, August just ended here comes September
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
You are saved to save others.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, help me to discharge my obligations to my fellow brethren and others in general. Amen.

WHY NOT TRUST GOD ❓
DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Monday 31st August, 2020
Text:
Genesis 12:1-6
Topic:
WHY NOT TRUST GOD❓
Memory verse:
Genesis 12:1
Message:
Trusting God sometimes means stepping out by faith even when you do not know where you are going. Your location sometimes will affect your allocation. One of the worst things that can happen to you in life is to be in a place where God has left. It also becomes tragic when you remain in a place where your assignment has finished. Today, many people are struggling because they lack perceptive ability; they are staying in a place where they have been retired. New grounds produce new glories. Many times, we fear the uncertain future than relying on the certain God.
The Lord spoke to Abram at age 75 to leave his father’s house to a place that He will show him. Notice, as at this time, Abram was an old man. He was used to his father’s land, possibly he had built his retirement house, and maybe he had already settled in his heart that he had few days to spend on earth. The moment God spoke to him, he obeyed with prompt action. New assignments renew our lives. The problem with some of us is that the comfort in our present place has made us overlook the greater miracle that awaits when we leave. For some, the fear of the uncertain future has crippled their chances of making it to the next level; while for others, the frustration of starting all over again has robbed them of the greater height they could have achieved.
Today, the evidence of our trust is our willingness to step out of our comfort zone to do God’s bindings. Let it be said of you that in spite of all odds you obeyed God and did it.
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Trust and obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to always trust in You. Amen.

WILL YOU BE AN AGENT OF BAD NEWS❓
DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Numbers 13:26-33
Topic:
WILL YOU BE AN AGENT OF BAD NEWS❓
Memory verse:
Numbers 13:32
Message:
An agent is one who acts for another. He could be a volunteer or a hired worker. We live in a world where almost every minute that passes, greets us with either good or bad news. Sometimes, both the bad and the good news come at the same time. The agents of these news, especially bad news, most times, do not know the negative effects of the news they spread.
They were sent to spy on a land that was flowing with milk and honey. They were expected to bring back good news; rather they brought back bad news. The ten spies in our text were agents of bad news. Believers should not be agents of bad news. The negative effects of the bad news they spread can be summarized as follows:
1. Bad news breaks the heart and weakens faith.
2. Bad news can kill instantly, ( Eg. Eli, the priest, and his daughter-in-law, died as a result of bad news, 1Sam. 4:19).
3. Bad news spreads farer and faster than epidemic.
4. Bad news can be more infectious than any malignant virus.
5. Bad news can be very destructive. It was bad news that made the son of Jonathan a cripple (2Sam. 4:4). When they heard of impending war, the servant while fleeing dropped him on the floor and he became permanently lame, and died a cripple even though blessed by God.
6. Bad news can be deceptive. Agents of bad news are discouragers, like the ten spies; agents of bad news always spread discouraging words.
Agents of bad news are sometimes sponsored by Satan to wreak havoc or used by men to achieve their selfish ends. Agents of bad news are heart breakers, like the servants of Job, “I only am escaped to tell thee….” Let’s not be agents of bad news. May we not be used by men or Satan to spread bad news! Rather than spread bad news, spread good news; spread God’s word and love.
CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
Resist the temptation of being used either by Satan or men to spread bad news.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me not to be agent of bad news. Amen.

HAVE YOU HEARD OF PERILOUS TIME ❓

Text:
2Timothy 3:1-13
Topic:
HAVE YOU HEARD OF PERILOUS TIME❓
Memory verse:
2Timothy 3:3
Message:
One of the major times mentioned in the Bible is the perilous times. Nobody knows how long such times will last but certainly they herald the last days of this earth system. Perilous means dangerous. In this dangerous time, the Bible records from the text above that people will be lovers of themselves, and self-centeredness will be the order of the day. They will crave and become crazy for wealth, boasters, children will be disobedient to their parents, unholy and without natural affection and all manner of things contrary to the word of God.
Many children of God give attention to things they should not, some allow false teachers to give them teachings contrary to the word of God. The Bible warns that we should go far away from such people. Any doctrine that is against the word of God should be avoided. Be mindful of what you watch, say, listen and do. Protect yourself from deceptive influences and temptation. Avoid negative communications and strong affinity with unbelievers lest they corrupt you.
Plato says that an “unexamined life is not worth living”. In this light, we are persuaded to see through the word of God continually and assess our lives consciously. Live a holy and righteous life. Live with the rapture in view.
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Evaluate your life in the light of the word of God and adjust where it does not line up with divine will so that you will be rapture ready.
PRAYER:
Father, please help me to live and check my life in view of rapture. Amen.

DO WE DESERVE ASKING FOR GOD’S FAVOUR ❓
DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL
TUESDAY 25 August 2020
Topic: *DO WE DESERVE ASKING FOR GOD’S FAVOUR ❓*
Text: Psalm 5:12; 84: 10-12
MESSAGE: Understanding what favour mean is crucial to understanding how it works. The word ‘favour’ was chosen by Bible translator as the closest English word to the original Hebrew “ratsown”, which means “pleasure, delight, favour, goodwill, and acceptance.” Our English word for favour has several meanings which are worth looking at:
❗ Something done or granted out of goodwill, rather than from justice or for remuneration; a kind act.
❗. Friendly or well-disposed regard; goodwill.
❗ The state of being approved or held in regard.
❗. Excessive kindness or unfair partiality; preferential treatment.
Most of us understand that when we ask God to do something for us, we’re asking for favour. It’s something that He would do out of His goodwill not because we deserve it. That’s the first definition of favour. But, when we ask God specifically for His favour on our live or over a situation, many of us do not understand what we are really asking. We’re are moving into second, third, and fourth definitions of favour and that’s where thing get a little murky. Being held in high regard; excessive kindness; preferential treatment: are we really supposed to be asking for these things as favour from the Lord?
As we study the Bible, you will notice that there are many people who asked specifically for favour and received it; Jacob, Moses, Ruth, and Nehemiah. Since there is no respect of persons with God, as you ask for His favour today, rest assured that He will answer you. But, let your request for His favour be in line with His goodwill and word.
CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
A day of favour can be more rewarding than a year of labour.
PRAYER:
Lord, show me your favour and goodwill today.
