ARE YOU TAKING YOUR SITUATION FOR AN EXCUSE❓

Memory verse:
John 5:7

Message:
At the city wide crusade 2018, a lame man, during praise session danced so much on the platform that people sprayed him money. He took advantage of his predicament and danced more than those that have two legs.

According to our text today, the man at the pool lived his life full of complaint because he enjoyed being pitied, and didn’t know when he stayed up 38 good years by the pool.

Life, they say, is not a bed of roses but child of God, if you are strong in the spirit you can make yours one. Do you know that in life there are people you are better than in all ramifications and they are somewhere succeeding in life? Uselessness or usefulness in life is not determined by birth but by choice. That you are sick, paralyzed in any part of your body, an orphan etc, is not a yardstick for you to claim defeat in life and living a life of pity is equal to digging your grave with shame. Borrow a leaf from the lame man at the 2018 Crusade. He did not allow his health situation to deter him from worshipping and rejoicing in the presence of his God. He appreciated the fact that he was alive in the land of the living. He kept low his problems and lifted high his God .

Praise God in your situation, don’t allow that situation to weigh you down, like apostle Paul will say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. (Phili. 4:13), be strong, grace is speaking and will forever speak over your life.

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
Adversity cause some men to break down and some others to break records.

PRAYER:
Father give me the power to overcome the storms of life.

DO YOU WANT TO GIVE UP ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Monday 24 February 2020

Text:
John 5:1- 9

Topic:
DO YOU WANT TO GIVE UP❓

Memory verse:
Hebrew 10:36

Message:
Every one of those ‘impotent floks’ needed a miracle of healing but they all would have to wait until an Angel stirs the water before they all could get one chance (or one opportunity) for only one person to be healed. God’s principles do not change. Every promise of God is worth waiting for. This is because the admonition in Hebrew 6:12 says: ” That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” No matter how long you have waited on God, keep on waiting on Him. Your wait will not be in vain.

The impotent man in our text today was by the pool for 38 good years. No brother, sister or friend appeared to assist him. Everybody, including his own relations gave up on him; but thank God he did not give up on himself. He waited expectantly, believing that one day, his time will come. He strongly believed that however long he had waited, his waiting will never be in vain. His perseverance eventually paid off for him, the Master Himself appeared, stepped in and handled his case. What a reward!

You may have prayed and waited for what seems like eternity yet without any result. Don’t give up! There is an appointed time for you. It will not be exceeded. God will soon show up for you. Let the mockers mock and scorners scorn, one thing is sure, the Master will soon appear and it will be your turn. That appointment, contract, marriage, conception, promotion, admission, and whatever it is you have been waiting for, will eventually come. Your waiting will never be in vain. Amen.

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
Every promise of God is worth the wait.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me wait patiently on You for my miracles. Amen.

ARE YOU TRUSTING GOD FOR…❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Wednesday 20th February 2020

Text:
Exodus 2:15 -25; 3:1

Topic:
ARE TRUSTING GOD FOR…❓

Memory verse:
Romans 5:3, 4

Message:
The stage or period of suffering can make one feels like one is suffocating. For example, one’s family may be close to a breakdown, business at the verge of bankruptcy, and nothing may seem to be going according to plan. It may feel like there is no hope at all, not even as small as the eye of a needie. The future becomes totally pitch-dark. One can be said to be going through a suffering stage.

In suffering, you must completely trust in the word of God and depend on Him. If you run left and right trying to solve the problem on your own, you will have more pains. Therefore, you should stand on the word that never changes even if heaven falls down and the Earth is destroyed. You must obey the word although the road ahead of you may be pitch-dark and you can see nothing, hear nothing, or grasp nothing.

The word is alive, and it brings miracles into our lives today. From now on, do not have to be restricted by our senses. You do not have to look at your environment. You should rely upon the word of God and have faith based on the word. “Man does not live by bread alone, but every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). The reason suffering comes to us is to make us stand on the faith of the word. While we pass through such suffering, all the impurities of our disbelief will sink.

In our text today, Moses lived a life filled with suffering for forty years in the wilderness in caring for the father in – law’s animals and many more. Passing through suffering, he chose to trust in God and humbly obeyed the word of God. Finally, he became a great servant of God and realized the dream of the Exodus for the Israelites, who had no hope of liberation from Egypt.

To disembark from suffering, you need to obey the word of God as a staff, and great faith will be revealed in your live. Everybody will be stunned to notice that our thoughts, words and behavior have changed and your environment blessed. Trust God!

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
God does not promise us a life on earth without a measure of suffering, rather, He goes through it with us to make us better.

PRAYER:
Grant me the grace for this race, oh Lord. Amen.

ARE YOU LIVING A FULFILLED LIFE❓

Psalm 24:1-10

Topic :
ARE YOU LIVING A FULFILLED LIFE❓

Memory verse:
Psalm 24:1

Message:
God wants you to live an abundant and satisfied life. He wants you to enjoy the fullness of the earth and experience His goodness everywhere you go.

It’s easy for people to get stuck in a rut, doing the same thing the same way all the time. But when you open yourself to new people, new experiences and new ideas, you are making room for God to reveal Himself to you and work in different ways in your life. When you stretch yourself, you increase your abilities, and you increase your influence in the world around you.

This week, make the decision to explore something new. Take a different route home from work. Be open to new
People who may not necessarily look like you or act like you. Let God direct and broaden your horizons. Look for new opportunities to grow and stretch so you can live the full, satisfying life the Lord has in store for you. After all, the whole wide world is the Lord’s and fullness thereof.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
When you stretch yourself, you increase your abilities, and influence in the world around you.

PRAYER:
Father, I ask that You help me broaden my perspective. Give me courage to step out of my comfort zone so I can experience the full life You have for me in Jesus’ name.

HOPEFULLY YOU ARE A SWEET FRAGRANCE ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Sunday 16 February 2020

Text :
2 Corinthians 2:1-15

Topic :
HOPEFULLY YOU ARE A SWEET FRAGRANCE❓

Memory verse:
2 Corinthians 2:15

Message :
Do you know that your life is a sweet fragrance to God? Think about how a wonderful aroma affects you personally. Most times, while in the United States during Spring and the flowers are blossoming, everything feels new again. The sweet aroma in the air tells you that the flowers are fresh and alive. It catches your attention. It makes you want to take a deep breath of the sweet fragrance.

God feels the same way about you. He loves wonderful aromas, and when you are living your life to please Him, it’s beautiful fragrance that captures His attention. Just like the aroma in springtime tells you that the flowers are alive, the aroma of your life is a sign that Christ is alive in you. It is pleasing to the Heavenly Father. The next time you experience a fresh fragrance, remember that your life is a fragrance to God. You can rest in knowing that He is pleased with a heart that seeks after Him. As you continue to seek Him, you will be that sweet fragrance, and you will experience His wonderful hand of blessing in every area of your life.

Today, the Apostle Paul encourages us to live in such a way that the outcome of our decisions and actions will rise like a sweet fragrance to the Lord, so much so that our neighbours will as well enjoy the pleasing aroma.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
Effective Christianity is like a sweet fragrance; it affects every atmosphere it enters.

PRAYER:
Lord, let my life be a pleasing aroma to you.

WHAT LOVE❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Friday 14 February 2020

Text :
1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Topic :
WHAT LOVE⁉

Memory verse:
1 Corinthians 13:13

Message :
Spiritual maturity is not measured by how long one has been a Christian, or how much one knows or how often one go to church. Spiritual maturity is measured by the way one handles God’s affairs and treats other people. How do you treat the security man you meet at the gate? Are you courteous when someone cuts you off in traffic? Are you patient with your family and coworkers?

The greatest every child of God should possess and portray is LOVE. Anyone that share the love of God will hardly hurt others. It might be very difficult sometimes, especially when the recipients prove unlovable by their attitude towards you. But you must not be discouraged, God’s kind of love is unconditional and it is the greatest a child of God must give. The Bible tells us that LOVE is patient; it is kind. It does not envy; it is not proud; it is not rude. LOVE is not easily Angered, and it keeps no record of wrong. LOVE never fails. Notice that these characteristics do not have anything to do with feelings. One can choose to walk in LOVE even when he/ she does not feel like it.

Show kindness and courtesy to others. Look for ways to develop the greatest thing in your life, LOVE! Today is Valentine’s Day, let’s show the world how to truly be LOVE.

N/B: Number 9:11
Kjv: The 14th day of the second month (14th February) they shall keep it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs… why not look for the less privileged around you and shower them LOVE.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
To love and be loved is the greatest of all human desires.

PRAYER:
I thank you Lord for working in my life and loving me so that I can show love to others.

ARE YOU ON TOP OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES ❓

DOUBLE DAILY MEAL DEVOTIONAL

Thursday 13 February 2020

Text:
John 13:1-15

TOPIC:
ARE YOU ON TOP OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES❓

Memory Verse:
John 13:15

Message:
Once upon a time, there were four men named: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. But, Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it. But, Nobody did it. Somebody got angry  about it because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it and Nobody realised that Everybody would not do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody that Nobody did the Job that Anybody could have done in the first place.

Our lesson today calls for taking personal responsibility to serve others. It requires a commitment to the slogan: “If it is going to be, it is up to me.” The meal was ready but their feet were dirty. There was no servant who could wash their feet. Everybody was waiting for somebody to Volunteer to do it and Nobody Volunteered to do it. Then the Lord deliberately took over the responsibility in order to teach them that unforgettable lesson of humility. He washed their feet one after another.

Today and whenever duty calls, do not wait for somebody. Nobody may rise to the responsibility, so make up your mind to do it. Tell yourself that if you don’t do it, it may not get done.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Irresponsibility means not responding to one’s ability.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to always demonstrate responsibility by serving others.

WHAT LIFE FORMULA DO YOU WANT ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Wednesday 12 February 2020

Text: 1John 5:11-13

TOPIC:
WHAT LIFE FORMULA DO YOU WANT❓

Memory Verse:
John 3:16-17

MESSAGES:
Mathematicians say LIFE is like a line segment drawn from point B to point D.

What is point B to point D?

It’s from point of Birth(B) to point of Death(D).
So life starts from the moment we are Born(B) until the day we Die(D).

But in the middle of B(Birth) and D(Death) is a mysterious C.

What is C then? It is = CHRIST

If we put Christ in the middle of our life(Birth—>Christ—>Death) our life will not end at D but extend to E.

What is E? It is = Eternal Life.

So all those who put Christ in the middle of their life have Eternal life after Death

But those who do not put Christ in the middle of their lives don’t have Eternal life after Death but they have F ={Fire}.

Therefore the mathematical Equation / Definition of Life For Christians is

B + C + D = E
(Birth+Christ+Death= Eternal Life)

And the mathematical Equation or Definition Of Life For Unbelievers:

(B – C ) + D = F
Birth – Christ + Death = Fire

Any one that avoids C must surely lose E.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
walking with Christ is Eternal Life

PRAYER: Lord Help me to be among that will get The Crown at the end of the Race.

ARE YOU GOOD IN DOING GOOD ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Monday 10 February 2020

Text :
Luke 10:25 -37

Topic :
ARE YOU GOOD IN DOING GOOD❓

Memory verse:
Luke 10:34

Message : .
The word “Good” connotes something of positive nature. Every one desires something good. People need good things such as good house, good jobs good children, good business connections, the list is endless. On the other hand, we as human beings hardly do good deeds, except where we will gain from such acts.

The story of the Good Samaritan is one that concerns a man doing good deed to a fellow man, even when other person’s refused to do good. Notice that the two person who had passed by the battered man after he was attacked by armed robbers on the road, were person’s of high religious status in the society. One was a priest while the other persons was a levite. Both of them refused to do good deed, even when there was an opportunity to do so, and somebody’s life was involved. It took a Samaritan to rescue the man, pay for health services and lodging for him, and finish up all the good works to make the man get on his feet again.

Doing good works to other people also returns the good to us. When you do good works to others, you are actually fulfilled and it gives you inner joy. There are several people whom we need to do good deeds to. They include persons in our homes, in the church, in our business places, IDP Campus, prisons, Hospitals and Orphanages, etc. Such good acts will include financial assistance words of advice, prayers, and other positive acts. Keep doing good to every one you can. Keep up the good acts. When you are good to people, God will be happy to you because you are exemplifying Christ. This is a call to awaken us to the humanitarian mandate of the church. Indeed, the Church needs to exemplify Christ by doing more good than it is already doing today.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
Kindness to one is kindness to all.

PRAYER:
Lord, I pray for the grace to do good to people. Amen.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE OF YOUR FAMILY LOVE/CONFLICT -7- ❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Sunday 9 February 2020

Text :
Gen. 2:18-25; 1 pet. 3:1-7

Topic :
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE OF YOUR FAMILY LOVE /CONFLICT -7-❓

Memory verse:
1 Peter 3:7

Message :
Marriage was instituted by God and can be defined as a legal union of a man and a woman, based on mutual consent, to form a family. Hebrews 13:4 refers to it as honourable and Proverbs 18:22 says finding a wife is finding a good thing which attracts God’s Favour. Today’s text, among others, gives the recipe for a happy marriage. Thus, any Happy marriage will require genuine and agape love; while divorce, adultery and treachery are forbidden. A happy marriage will make a happy home and children will be raised in godliness and moral rectitude.

In our second passage, Peter enjoins wives to be godly in character, reverencing their husbands like Sarah did Abraham, calling him Lord. Husband are to live with the understanding of their wives as weaker vessel prone to making mistake especially with their mouths.  They should honour, cherish, celebrate and not be harsh and wicked to their wives either by beating them, abusing them or denying them love and care.

A healthy relationship in marriage attracts divine blessings, especially, where couples are used to transparency, godliness, togetherness and praying together. The opposite will be the case where couples fight, cheat on each other don’t love each other, are not transparent to each other and don’t pray together.

The wife is by God’s plan, a suitable or destiny helper to the  husband. That informed the saying, “Behind a successful man there is a woman.” However, only a wise woman helps her husband to succeed in life (Prov.14:1)

No marriage can be happy where husbands and wives don’t know God, Submit to Him as their LORD and follow the teachings of the Bible in their marriage.

Make a commitment as a couple today, to love each other, pray together always and you will be amazed at the blessing that will come your way.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS :
God designed marriage to be a healthy relationship.

PRAYER:
Lord, forgive all our shortcomings as a couple, help us not to fail you Amen.
