DID YOU KNOW âť— EVEN NOW GOD IS THERE WITH YOU âť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Wednesday 23rd September, 2020

Text:
Psalm 42:5-11

Topic:
DID YOU KNOW âť— EVEN NOW GOD IS THERE WITH YOUâť“

Memory verse:
“Where is thy God” (Psalm 42:3,10).

Message:
From the beginning of creation, God has been. He started before Genesis and He will be after Revelation. He is the Alpha and the Omega (the beginning and the end). He has been in order that we will be. He has sworn that He will not leave nor forsake us no matter any apparent catastrophe. A man was held by a particular community because he went to Evangelise the Word of God. They tied him to a tree and decided to kill him by having him shot by a hunter. After they tied him, the great hunter who was to shoot him, threw this question at him, “Where is your God now?” The man of God said “I live in Him; my God is here with me”. They all laughed him to scorn.
The great hunter positioned himself and shot the gun, but the man of God disappeared. God delivered him and that led to the repentance of a whole community.

Consider this:
My God is before me (Exodus 13:21).
He is behind me (Isaiah 52:12).
He is around me (Psalm 34:7).
He is above me (Ezekiel 11:22).
He is underneath me (Deut. 33:27).
He is with me (Isaiah 41:10),
He is within me (1Cor. 3:16).
What about you? The Psalmist speaks of how he makes his prayer “unto the God of my life” (vs. 8). Whatsoever life’s circumstances, you can always count on God being there! Are you enjoying His presence today? Even if you are at the point of delivery, be courageous God is there with you.

Make out time to search for Him through His words, prayers, hymns, etc., and you will find Him, for He is there with you.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
God’s presence silences man’s appearance in your life. Get connected to God.

PRAYER:
Father, open my eyes to behold thee in my life in Jesus name. Amen.

WHO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND âť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Monday 21st September, 2020

Text:
John 15:13-18

Topic:
WHO IS YOUR BEST FRIENDâť“

Memory verse:
“Ye are my friends, if ye do whatever I command you” (John 15:14)

Message:
Hard times often reveal the truth as to who our friends are. Are you grateful for the friends who have stayed with you through the highs and the lows, the thick and the thin, the smiles and the tears? Friends such as these should never be taken for granted as they are very rare. The Lord Jesus Christ is such a friend. We can take our cares and problems to Him, and He will stand by us through all our trials and tribulations.

These words of Jesus in the text convey the meaning of all He would do for us as our friend. They also convey what we must do to be His friends. Jesus laid down His life for us, which proves He is the greatest kind of friend we could have. As the Bible says, “For the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross, despising the shame” (Hebrews 12:2). He did that for His friends; He was loyal to the end of His physical life. It was the joy of knowing His death would allow us to be His friends forever in eternal glory.

Remember, He is the best friend that sticks much closer than a brother. When we obey His commands, we become His friends. But when we disobey, we become His enemies. Once you see all the things that friendship with Jesus offers, you will realise that He is the best friend that you could ever have. Jesus is a friend so faithful. He shares in all our sorrows and He knows our every weakness. Are you His friend? Make Him your friend today by obeying His commands.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Jesus’ friends do what He commands.

PRAYER:
Lord, as I obey Your word today, may I be Your friend. Amen.

Do You know that, TRIAL IS NOT DENIALâť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

September 19th September, 2020

Text:
Job 1:12-22

Topic:
DO YOU KNOW THAT, TRIAL IS NOT DENIAL âť“

Memory verse:
“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10).

Message:
Trial is common to all men. There is no one that is above trial irrespective of position in life and status in the society. it is a painful period of test that every child of God should determine to emerge from more refined. No one bargains for it. Instead of weakening a child of God it should rather strengthen because it does not last forever. The important thing is the things you think, say and do at such period. it calls for careful words and actions. Let the Lord be glorified in that situation to the glory of God. Job lost almost all that he had, both children and livestock but in all, he did not sin nor charge God with wrong.

Your own period of trial might be unemployment after many years of search even with good certificate. It could be barrenness; it could be huge loss in your business, and it could be down turn of economy, or sudden poor educational performance of your children and many others. But like Job, make up your mind to come forth as gold after your trial. It is not palatable, but if Job who was a human that had blood flowing in his veins, could come forth as gold, you too can. It will be over and you shall tell your story.

In the end, Job got double of all that he lost. Only do all you can to ensure that the Lord is glorified. Feed your mind with relevant books and relate with people and things that will help increase your faith. Whatever your trial is, the end is very near. In fact, the end is nearer than you envisage. The aim is not to deny you any good thing but to strengthen you. Hold on to God more tenaciously, you will celebrate again and soonest.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Trials is common to all, determine to finish strong.

PRAYER:
Oh Lord, help me to come forth as gold after any trial that comes my way. Amen.

DO YOU KNOW âť— THERE IS POWER IN POSITIVE CONFESSION âť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Thursday 17 September, 2020

Text:
Matthew 9:20-22

TOPIC:
DO YOU KNOWâť— THERE IS POWER IN POSITIVE CONFESSIONâť“

Memory Verse:
Proverb 18:21

MESSAGE:
It has been proven the years that one’s belief and, especially, confession have a large degree of influence over one’s circumstances. That is, whatever one believes and confesses repeatedly over one’s life shall definitely play out and materialise. This theory is confirmed by the female character of our study today.

According to the Scripture, the woman was suffering from hemorrhage for twelve years. Hemorrhage is “a medical condition in which a person bleeds too much and cannot stop the blood” (Merrriam – Webster dictionary). Following her condition, the sick woman sought help at the hands of physicans, and spent all she had. Yet, Her condition never got any better but, grew worse.

On a particular morning, the sick woman heard that Jesus was passing by. She went into the crowd and touched the cloak of Jesus. The Bible observes that she was saying to herself. “If I only touch His garment, I will get well”. That’s believe and positive confession! And true to her confession, she got well immediately she touched Jesus.

Dearly beloved, what have you been saying over your life and family? What have you been saying over your business, Office, Career, marriage, education, future, ministry, etc? Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Whatever you believe and say over your life shall eventually materialise. Speak positively today!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Death and Life are in the power of the tongue.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to speak positively over my life, family and Future every day.

BIBLE READING FOR THE YEAR:
Jeremiah 51-52; Philippians 3

WHY NOT COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER âť“

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Wednesday 16 September 2020

TOPIC:
WHY NOT COMPLIMENT EACH OTHERâť“

KEY VERSE:
“Two people are better off than one,for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble” (Ecclesiastes4:9-10).

TEXT:Eccl. 4:1-10

MESSAGE:
What do you do in your church? Who will do what is a question that every member must answer? However, the gifts and abilities of each person should be considered. One may be more qualified than another in a particular task. Why not use the player best qualified in that area.

This does not mean that once one person accepts a responsibility, the others will never offer to help with the task. Love seeks to help and often will. In Ecclesiastes, King Solomon wrote clearly about the value of TEAMWORK. As a couple, you can accomplish more together than you can as two different individuals because you are there to help each other. The Scriptures do not tell us exactly who should do what, but they do encourage us to agree on the answer.

The prophet Amos once asked, “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” (Amos 3:3). The answer is, “Not very far and not very well.” Please keep negotiating until both of you feel good about who is doing what in your family, Church, office, etc.
That one will pursue a thousand but two will pursue ten thousand clearly shows the power of complimenting each other.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
One is too small to accomplish greatness; we need each other.

PRAYER:
Lord, make me an effective team player.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Song of Solomon 6-8; Ephesians 2
