Message :
Welcome to the Family week. Perhaps February is a month of LOVE as widely speculated Throughout this week we shall be dealing with issues relating to the building of healthy Homes/Families. Today and tomorrow we shall be looking at causes and resolution of conflicts in our homes. Let us look at one of causes of conflicts in the family.

One of the basic causes of uproar in the family is the issue of “FINANCE”. In many of the cases it is either that a spouse is reckless in spending or stingy to a fault. At some instances, finance related crises are caused when a spouse is lazy and yet very demanding and overtly irresponsible. Whatever may be the case, peace can be achieved in our homes when husband assume their God given responsibility of providing for the family while the wives take up their assigned tasks of care and resource management. Women who are privileged to become bread winners should learn to be humble and submissive while their husbands must reciprocate that gesture with love, fidelity and understanding. Families that want freedom from financial pressures should also consider adopting the budgeting system and ensure they do not vagrantly live above their means. They should as well take a resolution to avoid going a borrowing especially borrowing to buy liabilities.

No matter what is the cause of a family crises, the scriptures provide that a husband’s love and the wife’s submission are the most essential tools for resolving the conflicts in the home. Let’s apply these rules and trust God for uncommon results.

In the passage we read, Apostle Paul admonished the Ephesians to submit themselves to one another as Christ to the Church and gave His life for it. As the wife submits to her husband so also the man should love his wife. They need to pray together in order not give room external forces. A family that prays together stays together.

N/B: a “family with only one source of income suffers depression”

Today Sunday is an especially exciting day. It is the second date in 1000 years that can be written the same way both backwards and forwards. 02/02/2020. Its called a “palindromic” day. The first was 01/01/1010. The next one will occur in 909 years on 03/03/3030. No one can witness two palindromic days, not even Methuselah.
All of us alive tomorrow are privilege to witness this special day.
Give a special thanks to God for the privilege.

Message :
It is a very popular saying that prayers move mountains, while praises move God. If you were given the option of moving either mountains or God, certainly you will prefer to move God to mountains. While one is not undermining the importance of prayers, one should also realize the vital place of praising God. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people, especially Christians complain a lot, while still enjoying the many benefits of God in their lives. Some just choose to magnify their problem all the time, rather than counting the manifold blessing on their lives. Most of us are guilty of this.

Our text shows two vibrant men who were put in prison without any just cause. Rather than sit down in prison and blame God for not fighting for them and allowing them to suffer, the Bible says that Paul and Silas prayed and sang great songs of praise to God. And, the shackles that held them bound broke loose miraculously. Praise God!

Brethren, it does not matter the situation that you are facing right now. It does not matter if the whole world has turned it’s back on you. What matters is that you still have God. Praise God continually even in that situation and you will see God turn things around for your sake. Hallelujah! Thank God for the blessings of seeing a New Month of February

DO YOU KNOW❗ YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR HEART ❤️❓

MESSAGES
The HEART is a vital organ in the body of man. It is the organ that pumps blood around the body; situated in the center of the chest with it’s Apex directed to the left. It is the source and center of emotional life, where the deepest and sincerest feelings are located. From our text, the wisest man  that ever lived on earth is advising us to guard our hearts. He said that it is the well spring of life.

So since the heart is the center of our emotional life, we should ensure that it is given a good attention. Jesus, in one of His teachings, also told us that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Therefore, we should ensure that our hearts are kept clean. How do we do this? David gave us the answer in Psalm 119:11. He said, ” I have hidden your word in my heart that  I might not sin against you. “Our heart is our store room and whatever we store in there, will be reflected in our attitude or behaviour. David was so careful with his heart that he prayed to God to search his heart and see if there is any evil in it.

Watching over our hearts requires among other things the act of daily intake of God’s Word; being mindful of who we lend our ears to; not reading things that will corrupt our thoughts and not watching movies that will defile our mindset, it is dangerously risky to leave our heart unguarded at any point in time.

Always give your heart a daily check up.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to always have a clean heart.

” But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias for thy prayer is heard and thy
wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John” (Luke 1:13).

TODAY’S TEXT
LUKE 1:11-17

MESSAGE

Today’s lesson centers on a wonderful couple, Zacharias and Elisabeth, who remained steadfast in serving God. Zacharias was a priest in the days of King Herod, and his wife Elisabeth was of the daughters of Aaron. The Bible records that they were both righteous before God and walking in all commandments and ordinances of the Lord, blameless. Yet, they had no child because Elisabeth was barren, and both were well stricken in years.

The world and even the couple themselves had given up their possibility of conception not to talk of giving birth. But Jehovah God who has power over nature and over everything created in heaven and earth knew it was not over for them. He had their timing in His hands. Eventually, He remembered them and gave them a son, whom He ordered to be named John. And John later became known as John the Baptist, the forerunner of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Nobody may know what you have been requesting from the Lord and the prayers that have remained unanswered over the years. Do not be discouraged. Keep serving God and living in righteousness. He will soon remember you and grant you the answers to those prayers.

God has not forgotten you. He will make you dance before the congregation of the righteous with evidence of what you have been believing Him for in Jesus’ name, Amen. The God who did it for Priest Zacharias and Elisabeth will do it for
you. Yours may not be a child, but just know that whatever it is, there is no impossibility with God. God has not forgotten you and will never forget you.

God never abandons His own in times of difficulties. He proves Himself faithful.

PRAYER

Oh Lord, remember me, hear and answer me as l pray to You over the

following issues (mention them to God) of my life. Amen.
