TOPIC:
DO YOU KNOW❗ YOUR DESTINY IS IN YOUR HANDS ❓

MEMORY VERSE:
“Fight the good fight of faith” (1Tim. 6:12)

Message:
Jesus said that since the time of John the Baptist till now, the Kingdom of God has advanced *_(progressed)_* forcefully *( _by force_ )* and only the people who are able to force *_(push)_* their way through enter into it *_(paraphrased)_* (Matt. 11:12). The road to the kingdom of God is full of oppositions and obstacles, only a man who can breakthrough these barriers will make heaven.

Life is full of battles and in Christianity we fight more dangerous wars. We are at war with the flesh, the world, principalities and powers. It is not a battle that is waged with weapons of physical violence. It is a spiritual battle. Our enemies are real and will not bow to them. This demands a fight!

Jabez is a Bible character that understands the nature of spiritual warfare. Though his world was turned upside down, he did not sit down crying and bemoaning his fate. He took his destiny into his hands interceded for himself. Jabez called on the God of Israel. ( *1Chronicles 4:10* ). He did not just mumble prayers; he ‘called’. He shouted; he screamed; he cried out! A man in serious need does not mumble prayers. When you see a Christian praying and falling asleep, know that he has not sensed real danger. When his pains become excruciating or his condition unbearable, he cannot but cry out.

What are you doing in your own case? Only those who seek the Lord earnestly will find Him (Jer. 29:13). Ask, if you are to receive. Seek, if you are to find. Knock, if the door is to be opened to you (Matt. 7:7). Arise, take your destiny into your hands and fight for your liberation. No one can help you better than yourself. So, arise and fight! “The kingdom of God suffereth violence” and only the violent take it, and this they do by force. Take your destiny into your hand in the fervency of prayers.

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
Prayer sharpens destinies.

PRAYER:
As I take my destiny into my hands today and fight for my liberation, may every opposition or barrier in my way be dismantled. Amen.

ARE YOU HIDING IN THE RIGHT PLACE❓

Psalm 27:5

MESSAGE:
Have you ever watched children play hide and seek? They look for the best place to hide in the house or yard and wait quietly for their friend to try and find them. It’s a fun game for kids, but even as adults, we need a good place to hide from time to time. Sometimes, we need a place of refuge, we need a place of safety, and we need a place to rest when we feel overwhelmed by the circumstances of life, a place where the enemy of our soul can never find us.

The good news is that God has the perfect hiding place for you! You don’t have to hide in your job. You don’t have to hide in relationships. You don’t have to hide in food or addictions because God Himself promise to hide you! He freely offers you shelter from the storms of life any time you call upon His name.

Remember, there’s only one place the enemy cannot find you. There’s only one place where opposition cannot steal from you. There’s only one true place of safety and rest for your soul, and that is in the arms of Jesus. Know that He loves you, and He is ready to receive you when you call upon His name!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Where you hide determines your vulnerability.

PRAYER:
Father, Thank You for hiding me in Your shelter and keeping me safe from the storms of life.

HOW MANY “TRUSTS” HAVE YOU BETRAYED❓

Message:
In mid-September 2018, all major news outlets went to town with story of a legislator of the Osun State House of Assembly who was caught stark naked on camera bathing in the market in the wee hours of the night. He was said to have been tricked by blackmailers who pretended to be spiritualists to believe that if he did the ritual, his space in public life and power would be secured. Unknown to him, everything was a setup. When he took the bait, they videoed him and used it to allegedly collect over #40 million from him to keep the video from going public.

In lieu of this, let’s take another look at the story told by Jesus in Luke 16 about the fraudulent steward. How devious the children of this age are! But come to think of it all, consider the complex thinking, the planning, the gathering of all the bits and pieces that went into this scheme, the co-ordination, the perfect execution, and you will agree that the children of this generation indeed have something to teach the saints of light about commitment to achieve goals.

How many Christians operate a business or company together? How many cooperate well in a group even inside the church? How many Christians trust the next saint? How many saints will not betray the trust of his/her brother or sister?

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
We need to do better than unbelievers.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to rise above the rot of this age, help me to live above the fallen standards of this world in Jesus’ name, Amen.
