ARE YOU STILL COMPLAINING❓

Proverbs 8:11-14

TOPIC:
ARE YOU STILL COMPLAINING❓

KEY VERSE:
Proverbs 8:12

MESSAGE:
A report by the Punch Newspaper shows that the total number of workers in 487 Federal Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) is estimated at 330,820. A verification exercise of this figure was on going as at August 2018. On the other hand, universities and polytechnics in Nigeria graduate over one million people every year. The private sector is not growing and thus, not employing. State governments are also stagnant.

To get a job, young Christian graduates must create one or do something creative to draw the attention of employers. Take the case of David Casarez, a homeless software development graduate of Mountain View, California who printed a fine CV and went out to the streets of the city handing it over to anyone that came his way. He did so evangelistically  until a social media user identified as @jayscD posted Casarez’ story on twitter. Thereafter, three giants – Google, Netflix and LinkedIn offered him a Job.

Truly, wisdom is profitable to direct. It helps the prudent to find creative solutions to the challenges of life. Don’t just sit there complaining. Go out and do something. This 2019 month of June is Ending today. As you are entering the New Month of July, Ask God to put an idea into you that will create the next big success story. Wisdom is out there beckoning on you! 👀

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it”…(Mother Theresa).

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, please open the windows of heaven and pour upon me creative ideas, concepts and insights to meet the challenges of my life.

CAN YOU OVERCOME TEMPTATION❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Saturday 29 June, 2019

Text:
Proverb 4:23-27

TOPIC:
CAN YOU OVERCOME TEMPTATIONS❓

Memory Verse:
1 Corinthians 10:13

MESSAGE:
Temptation can be described as a strong urge or desire to do something that is very bad. This strong urge to do wrong happens in everyone’s mind. In other words, temptation comes to everyone irrespective of class, faith, age, number of years being a believer and position or title held in the Christian faith.

Temptation beings from on the inside. It begins with an evil thought desire or wish that has been dwelt upon for long. When one dwells on evil thought for long, they turn into actions. And, the moment one acts along the margins of such evil thought, one has fallen woefully into temptation.

However, temptation can be overcome. The just and faithful God cannot allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear according to our memory verse. In fact, He  has gone ahead to provide us with templates to overcome any temptation as we can see in Proverbs. The templates include:

Watch over your heart with all diligence (V.23a)
Put away a deceitful mouth and devious speech (V.24
Let your eyes look directly and ahead and stay focused (V25)
Watch the path of your feet (V.26)
Do not turn to right or left, and refrain your foot from evil (V.27)

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
The just and faithful God cannot allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear and overcome.

PRAYER:
Lord, please give me the grace to follow your templates and overcome every temptation that will come my way.

WILL YOU DENY JESUS❓

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Friday 28 JUNE, 2019

TEXT:
Daniel 3:13-27

TOPIC:
WILL YOU DENY JESUS ❓

KEY VERSE:
Isaiah 43:2

MESSAGE:
The boldness of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego in our text today is a shining example of courage to stand publicly for God against life-threatening situations in our Christian race. Nebuchadnezzar erected a golden image in the “plain of Dura” in the province of Babylon. The image was of enormous size. He called on his subjects from the highest to the lowest rank in Babylon to bow down or worship the image at the sound of various musical instruments with a threat of death by fire to any person who cares to disobey him (v6).

But, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter” (v16). They declared “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand” (v17). And even if God decided to allow them to die, they decided not to bow to the king’s image. Angered, the king ordered that the fire be heated seven more times (v19). They were thrown into the fire; but God saved them (v 23,24). Nebuchadnezzar saw them loosed, walking in the midst of the fire with a fourth man. The King identified the fourth person as “the Son of God” (v24). He recognized God’s power in action and blessed the name of God (v28). He decreed that anyone, Nation, or language which speaks evil against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego shall be punished, “because there is no other God who can deliver like this” (v29).

Believers are faced with similar trials in life today. The unbelieving world often confronts faithful believers with the same ultimatum, calling us to submit to idol worship, occultism at school, office and business world. What should be our response? We too must be willing and courageous to go to the furnace and face trials for our faith.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Those who stand for God will definitely enjoy His blessings.

PRAYER:
Lord, make me bold today to confront all the trials of life around me.

HOW PREPARED ARE YOU❓🕚

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Thursday 27 June, 2019

Text:
Luke 5:1-7

TOPIC:
HOW PREPARED ARE YOU❓

Memory Verse:
Luke 5:6

MESSAGE:
How prepared are you for the rainy day? Have you been saving? Do you have any investments? Or, do you eat and spend all your earnings?

How prepared are you for God’s blessings? Are you ready for the big catch? If the Lord poured out His planned blessings on you, are you ready to receive and manage them?

Peter had laboured all through the night and caught no fish until Jesus came and asked him to “let down his nets for a catch.” Unfortunately, Peter was not prepared for the kind of catch he was going to receive. He did not understand and his nets were way too weak for the catch. Little wonder, he could only lay down a net whereas he was asked to lay down nets. Obviously, his unpreparedness was as a result of the fruitless labour he suffered the previous night which convinced him that the sea was empty of fish. But, Christ is involved now!

Have you been praying for great success? Are you prepared for God’s answer to those prayers? Have you been praying and believing God for wealth and riches? Are you ready for the riches? Have you been developing new and creative ways of doing old and common things? Have you been polishing, refining and upgrading your character and relationship with others?

God would like to meet you prepared! Get your nets ready. Get bigger and stronger nets. Get your boats set. Get ready for God’s kind of release.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
God would like to meet you prepared! Are you ready for God’s kind of blessing?

PRAYER:
Father, open my eyes to see how big You are, and give me the grace and wisdom to prepare for Your kind of blessings.

Text:
Esther 6:1-14

TOPIC:
“YOU” MUST BE HONORED

Memory Verse:
Esther 6:3

MESSAGE:
The story of Mordecai is an interesting one. He worked at the Palace gate, heard of the assassination plot against the  King. He reported the plot to Esther and the queen passed the intelligence on to Xerxes. The would-be assassin’s were stopped, and Mordecai name was recorded in the King’s Chronicle as the one who took action to preserve the King’s life.

On a particular night, the King could not sleep. He commanded to bring the book of records of the Chronicles and they were read before him. And it was found written that Mordecai had told of bigthana and Teresh, two of the King’s Chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hands on king Ahasuerus. And the king asked what honour and dignity had been bestowed on Mordecai for his commendable action? Nothing had been done. Then at the king’s order, Haman took apparel and horse and arrayed Mordecai.

THE POWER OF POSITIVE CONFESSION

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Tuesday 25 June, 2019

Text:
Matthew 9:20-22

TOPIC:
THE POWER OF POSITIVE CONFESSION

Memory Verse:
Proverb 18:21

MESSAGE:
It has been proven the years that one’s belief and, especially, confession have a large degree of influence over one’s circumstances. That is, whatever one believes and confesses repeatedly over one’s life shall definitely play out and materialise. This theory is confirmed by the female character of our study today.

According to the Scripture, the woman was suffering from hemorrhage for twelve years. Hemorrhage is “a medical condition in which a person bleeds too much and cannot stop the of blood” (Merrriam – Webster dictionary). Following her condition, the sick woman sought help at the hands of physicans, and spent all she had. Yet, her condition never got any better but grew worse.

On a particular morning, the sick woman heard that Jesus was passing by. She went into the crowd and touched the cloak of Jesus. The Bible observes that she was saying to herself. “If I only touch His garment, I will get well. That’s believe and positive confession! And true to her confession, she got well immediately she touched Jesus.

Dearly beloved, what have you been  saying over your life and family? What have you been saying over your business, Office, Career, marriage, education, future, ministry, etc?  Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Whatever you believe and say over your life shall eventually materialise. Speak positively today!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Death and Life are in the power of the tongue.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to speak positively over my life, family and Future every day.

GOD SHALL RESTORE YOU

DOUBLE DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Monday 24 June 2019

Text:
Job 42:10-17

TOPIC:
GOD SHALL RESTORE YOU

KEY VERSE:
Deuteronomy 30:3

MESSAGE:
The story of Job is not new to most believers. The scripture described him as a faithful and true child of God who was “… Blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil” (Job 1). God even boasted of him before Satan; yet, great calamity befell him.

Beloved, are you currently undergoing Job’s kind of experience? Have you been faithful in your dealings with God and men, faithful in your defence of the Christian faith, faithful in your giving and support of the gospel, faithful in holy living, yet things are not working out the way you expect? Does it appear to you that your good behavior has never been appreciated or rewarded, while those with bad behaviour have never been punished for once? Are you asking whether faithfulness still pays?

Don’t give up! It is not over yet! Your unexplainable sufferings could be as a result of divine bet over your head which you are not aware of. There was such a bet over Job. He was not aware yet he held on to his faith and made heaven proud despite the numerous misfortunes that befall him.

The Lord restored Job’s fortunes double fold. He will do same and even more for you. Keep the faith; your restoration is near!

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Your unexplainable sufferings could be as a result of a divine bet over your head which you are not aware of.

PRAYER:
Oh Lord, help me to keep the faith and continue to make You proud no matter the misfortunes that have befallen me.

DEALING WITH SATANIC ALTARS

Double Destiny Daily Devotional

Sunday 23 June, 2019

Text:
Deuteronomy 7:1-11

TOPIC:
DEALING WITH SATANIC ALTARS

Memory Verse:
Deuteronomy 7:5

MESSAGE:
Altars are points of connection between divinity and humanity. Most of human experiences are determined by the altars behind them. Altars have power to bless or curse (Num 23:1-30). They can and do speak for generations (Gen 28:11-23). They stand as a memorial for those who raised them. They can control destinies of people under it’s power. They can speak on your behalf, either negativity or positively, in your absence or presence. Why? Because there is a deity behind the altar. Evil altars empower or propel generational curses.

As the Lord was reminding Israel of how they were to live in the Promised Land, He specifically instructed them to deal with satanic altars. He did not take it for granted that He was the one leading them into the promised Land and who gives them victory against their enemies. He commanded them to destroy the altars of wickedness by fire.

Why would God direct that they deal with the evil altars? The Lord knows that when evil altars are not silenced they will keep speaking: when wicked altars are not destroyed they will keep perpetuating wickedness. Satanic altars create circles of limitations, failures, hardships, diseases and  poverty. But by the Holy Spirit, the blood of Jesus, the word of God and the power in the name of Jesus we can destroy and paralyse all satanic altars. Rise up and deal with every satanic altar that is militating against your success.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
There are levels of spiritual victories we cannot attain until we deal with certain satanic altars

PRAYER:
Lord, in the name of Jesus I set every satanic altar against my family ablaze

JEHOVAH SHAMMAH

Double Destiny Global Outreach
Saturday 22 June, 2019

Text:
Ezekiel 48:30-35

TOPIC:
JEHOVAH SHAMMAH

Memory Verse:
Ezekiel 48:35

MESSAGE:
The book of Ezekiel ends with the great promise that one day God will live eternally among His people. This of course was reechoed by John the beloved in Revelation 21:3, “Behold, the Tabernacle of God is with men and he will dwell with them”. It reawakens our hope that in the age to come, as a result of God’s real and eternal presence, His people will never again experience the sorrows, disappointment, pains and troubles of their former lives on earth.

This message also has contemporary application. It reminds us that Shammah means, ‘The Lord is there’. The consciousness of this divine presence is what we need if we must maintain our Christian testimony. The three Hebrew boys, for example, had an understanding of this name, and so while they were in the furnace they were declaring Jehovah Shammah and indeed His presence was real there. Daniel, even before he was thrown into the lion’s den was rest assured that the LORD is there and really He was there and He shut the mouths of the lions. Precious one, you need to create a consciousness in your spirit about this name, ‘Jehovah Shammah’. Anytime you are in a horrible situation just know He is there with you. Are you down health wise? Are your finances going down? Is your business sinking? Get the assurance of His presence and it will certainly make the difference.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
The assurance of God’s presence dispels all fears and creates our miracles. Both Now & Future

PRAYER:
Lord, please make your presence more real to me.

YOUR LIFE IS PRECIOUS

Double Destiny Global Outreach

Friday 21June, 2019

Text:
Romans 8:37-39

TOPIC:
YOUR LIFE IS PRECIOUS

Memory Verse:
Revelation 21:7

MESSAGE:
The Christian world was thrown into sorrow early August, 2018 when the news broke that the lead Pastor of the California-based mega church, Inland Hills, Pastor Andrew Stoecklein had taken his own life, leaving behind a wife and three young children. The true reason for his suicide was not disclosed but people close to him suggested too much stress and depression.

Whatever might have been the cause of Pastor Stoecklein’s action, God’s children should always bear in mind that suicide is devilish and anti-christian. Life is a tough battle and the enemy is not merciful or relenting for even a second. One has to wake up each morning fighting until one goes to bed. In bed, you hand over the battles to God the keeper of your soul. Life is too precious to be thrown away to the devil in suicide.

Let us remember the precious promises of God to help us in hard times, particularly where He said, “… I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”. As our study passage clearly portrays, nothing in heaven or on earth or under the earth can separate us from the love of our heavenly father. Go out today expecting God’s help and never think of throwing away your life because of troubles.

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all (Psalm 34:19).

PRAYER:
Father, help me to walk in the consciousness that You are the owner of my life.
