Text: Daniel 6:1-11

TOPIC: CAN YOU LIVE WITHOUT A STAIN❓

KEY VERSE:
Dan. 6:4

MESSAGE:
Integrity is a scarce commodity in our world today. However, there are still people who could be relied on in terms of faithfulness and honesty. Can you be relied on? Daniel was such a person. His rivals could not find any fault against him because there was no “skeleton in his cupboard”. His determination to do God’s will at his teenage years remained in him even at old age. At this time, Daniel was over 80years old. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

It is said that one of the best ways to influence non-christian employers is to work diligently and responsibly. Daniel is an example. How well do you represent God before your employer or colleagues? Daniel conducted his whole life above reproach. Of course, that earned him persecution, leading to the “Lion’s Den.” However, Daniel refused to be swayed by intimidation, ridicule and discrimination of jealous rivals and enemies. He ignored their attacks and manipulations. He continued to worship God who had cared for him throughout his life (v 10). Daniel chapter 6 presents many interesting things about the prophet Daniel:

❗His spirituality set him apart as God’s instrument for such time (v 3).
❗ He was a preferred man. (V3).
❗He was a praying man (v 10).
❗He was a praising man (v 10).
❗He was a persecuted man (v 1).
❗ He was a protected man (v 21,22).
❗ He was a prosperous man (v 28).

God is worthy of our trust. We must stay true to Him despite persecutions and trials of our faith. Let us completely rely on God for protection (v 22). A man under God’s backing can never be harmed by spiritual lions “…if God is for us, who can be against us?” (Room. 8:31).

CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Remain focused in your services to God and man.

PRAYER:
Lord, give me courage to remain faithful.
